Extra Character Slots Please!!

I'd like to have the ability to buy some more character slots. I already have the 7th character slot, but I need more.

I don't have the money to purchase a second account, so it would be great if we could get more character slots for a nominal fee.

I've done the math, with 7 character slots and the skills we're given you can easily fit all of the non-useless skills into them and rotate them around with soulstones. I'd like to see more slots too, but really soulstones might be a cheaper option for you.

I have 9 accounts 7 slots on each... I'd like an extra slot as well. However I'd be much happier if I could have more stable slots and storage space. I'd buy that. I still want to buy a basement/dungeon to link to my house with an added 5k in lockdowns for it. I'd buy one of those for each of my accounts. If I could buy 10 extra stable slots per character I'd buy that.

There are hundreds of ideas out there which they could be making money on. An 8th slot is just one.

I wouldn't shut my accounts down for a extra 1 character slot be foolish of me to. All those characters I have I couldn't play if I did that, and heck what would I do with all my housing if I did that? All the idocs would get my stuff

i have three accounts... i only play main.. other two... just house holders... and bod collectors.. and helper chars to help me more gold to my atm...

Main has a tamer .. bard... pvp.. ninja archer.. mule.. samp ...

lol i will give you all the bods i collect! however, that number will remain at 0. i threw all my bods on the ground years ago. no amount of gold would be worth me killing brain cells collecting bods. if i want to kill brain cells, id do something more productive. like smoking crack.

i agree about soulstones. personally i think there should be soulstones that hold multiple skills. Maybe one that holds 5 skills for 5 year vet, 10 skills for 10 year vet.

Neverwinter sells 2 extra character slots for 5 dollars.

I'd happily pay 5-10 dollars for an extra character slot in UO.

Give us a max of 50 character slots per account and I'd be to busy building characters to pancake on these boards for a while... <--- That's gota be reason enough to implement it right there!

How about a character swap token. It is a token that holds the exact configuration of skills/stats that you want. so you double click the token and you put all of your mage skills on and the stat setup for that. Double click it again and it puts your warrior skills back on with the necessary stats. I am not saying you'd want to swap mage and warrior skills between one character but just thinking of an extreme comparison.

At least a temporary char slot for travelers on character transfers would be nice.
As a temporary stable slot for swapping pets if you have not enough control slots free with your new perfect GD and a full stable.

everyone has 720 skill pnts now that changed some time ago.
I would use another character slot if i had it, but then again i dont exactly "need" it. i have 6 soulstones total between my 2 accounts. about 40 frags to hold skills. 7 character slots on one, 6 on the other. thing is one slot always has to be kept open. so its really 6 and 5.

I think many people would be more likely to buy an extra slot than open another account, so would be free money for EA.

i would only open another account to have another house or more looting rights at events. Not just to have another character.

Myself, i think accounts shouldnt have a monthly fee at all. extras like houses, character slots, bank storage, other perks could all add on $$ each month and the sub rate would probably be about the same but with a higher population. thats a whole other topic tho.

opening a new account is very costly. 10-15 dollars a month, plus what like 80 dollars for the game. thats alot more money / commitment than its worth for 1 character. Your right tho, if its that much of an issue for someone its a decision he or she should carefully think about.

You would have to buy another copy of the game Yes...... you would have to buy another copy of HIgh Seas and such as well if you wanted it.... but it only is 10 bucks a month.... and honestly you can't even really go to the movies anymore ONCE a month let alone go all month long at something for 10 bucks. Quit smoking that'd give folk at least 10 bucks a month. Don't drink. That'd save over 10 bucks a month. Don't do the Dew. If I quit drinking Mt Dew I'd save enough every month for 3 or 4 more accounts. I suppose it's about priorities.

Honestly I think you get more bang for your buck by playing UO and paying the monthly fee. I suppose that's why I have 9 accounts. 1 billing for 6 months every month and one billing for 3 months every month.... spaced 2 weeks apart so only one sub comes out of my pay at a time. And I don't drink or smoke. Figure if I give up my caffeine crutch.... I could then probably afford another 3 accounts. But I'm not really willing to do that. I love how a lot of folk balk about spending 10 bucks a month on a game they can play all month but don't bat an eye for spending 5 bucks or more on a pack of smokes that lasts only one day or two. Blows my mind. Ever so glad I quit that habit back when it was $1.25 a pack. I thought that was highway robbery! HA! And back then I had to go to a smoking room to smoke at work.... or a designated smoking area. Now there is NO Smoking at all on the entire property. You have to go out all the way across the street to have a smoke. And you will get sent home if you smell of smoke.... WITHOUT PAY! I'm very glad I kicked the habit.

just grow weed and smoke it. that is free. if i could grow UO accounts in my yard i would have a brazillion.

I understand UO is a good use of $$ compared to some other things, but with the number of games out there that are a better value, an investment of over 100 dollars when all someone really wants is a 30 dollar character is a pretty big disparity. i dont understand why anyone would need more than 2or3 accounts unless they are scripting / treating UO as a job / exploiting the new event systme / or have a housing addiction, but thats just me.

Then one day they look at their credit card bill and go "OMG! I'm paying $200 a month for UO!!!" It happens more than you would expect lol.

I have one account with 7 character slots. I'm also retired, live alone, and only play one shard. I'm honestly trying to understand how anyone with a full time job and a family can handle more than that and still have time for life in the real world.

I have a full-time job which I cram into 3 full 12 hour shifts Fri-Sun.... I work a tiny 4 hour shift every Wed... Single Grandma with 3 "kids" living under my roof all of which are capable adults who require none of my time or energy... which leaves me with 3.75 days of pure me time.... which I enjoy not only playing my multiple accounts and characters... I seem to have made it a hobby to collect various things and accounts... and make characters. I also have the attention span of a gnat... so I tend to get bored with one thing pretty quickly ..... having multiple characters with multiple personalities on Multiple shards just is "right" to me.

I've enjoyed UO over the years and I get bored doing the same things over and over... so for awhile I might be stealing stuff from dungeons.... for awhile I might enjoy fishing the vast oceans of UO..... or I might do a little digging and uncover long lost treasures... or I might just sort through years of goodies I have stored in this house or that house... or I might go to some shard I don't usually play and hop about for awhile messing with folk.... or I might try to spread some cheer here or there.... perhaps roll in a dungeon or do a champ spawn somewhere... or maybe lie in wait for someone here or there...

With 100's of characters on multiple shards I can pretty much do whatever whenever..... I might test out a few templates here or there... see if I like this or that set-up... find what works for me.

Role-play over here or over there... whatever I'm in the mood for or maybe I might just spend hours and hours in Gen Chat helping someone better understand UO or the EC.

I guess it does make sense that avid gamers would want more character slots. Actually, I'm an aberration in the gaming community. UO is my one and only, and if that ends, well... it'll be back to Zoo Tycoon (and my grandkids' beloved Neopets, of course). But you're correct... I think it's primarily a business decision to stay with the current limit.
