*sighs* Help please. Renewing an account with an expired card

So I have my card info saved for a long time. The card is now expired and I have the new one. Of course my account goes down so I think no big deal... I can just go switch it to the new one.

WRONG!

I can't find where I can edit the saved card info. I tried under subscribe and no edit option is given if you select the card prior to trying to charge it so I can change the expiration... so I tried to put it in as a new card... Nope, we already have a card on file.


ARGH!

When I select billing, I get the following:
This Mythic Master Account has been linked to the XXXXXXXXXXX
All billing information is now protected by EA under this profile.

Billing information can be updated by selecting the UPDATE RENEWAL or SUBSCRIBE buttons located under each game account.

You can access the list of game accounts at any time by selecting the SUBSCRIPTIONS tab.



These instructions do not work as best as I can figure out. Someone please help point me in the right direction. Be gentle if I'm having a brain fart please... been a rough day and this is just the tip of the iceberg.

So easy fix (or so I thought), I was able to add my card as a new card and still keep his card on file (so I'm not sure why it wont let you), but when I went to pay with the new card on file....... error again. Wtf. This has happened quite a few times now. The only real solution I have found is buying a game time code.

Yep, gametime code works for me everytime I had this problem (which isn't often) but it seems the GTCs work everytime.

Thanks for the info Cupcake. This is so frustrating and it seems like this should be something that shouldn't be. I had one hour to sit, relax and stuff before bed and this occurred. Bleh. I can't even find a way to delete cards on file and of course my husband's card for the same bank account is saved on it too with the same expiration issue.

I guess I can go the game card route for 1 month. (I don't want to pay -more- for a 3 month code vs what my subscription would be) I'll buy the one month code tomorrow. Beyond frustrated tonight with 10 mins until bed.

Assia, If I go to an account page from the drop down list of them and click subscribe I get the billing choices. Choose continue, then you see credit card line, look up top of page and see manage accounts. See if you can edit card from there.

From the drop-down box... I have my master account and my UO account listed. When I go to either one and select "billing" tab, I get the paragraph above:

When I go to subscribe under the account, it brings up the saved cards and the option to put in a new card. My new card matches my old one with the exception of the expiration and I think the card security bit on the back. So I select the old one to see if I can edit when it doesn't go through... nope.. just tells me it isn't accepted. I enter the new card (same card number with different expiration and I think security code)... it says that it is a duplicate card for this account.

I have found it is easiest to go to Origin.com and sign in using your mythic master account name.

Then delete all the credit card info.

Then Go back to uo.com and sign into your master account.

Find the account you want to renew and hit subscribe.

Since it doesnt have a CC on file anymore it will let you put in a new card. I have found that when it doesnt already have a card on file it has a better chance for a new one to be accepted.

K no way you are able to change the old cc info, you will have to delete it, and start by putting in the new cc info.

after the first time this happened to me with my first account i switched over to game time cards.
have never had a problem since.

i get an email the week before saying the account it coming up to be renewed every 6 months, i go buy a card, put it on, takes all of 30 seconds and away i go again.

with all the hassle with trying to change credit cards and how some months it would just not bill me and turn off my account at the most inopportune time and how it wouldn't let me use one of my credit cards at all.... ugghhh... game time cards where the way to go.

we are reverting with UO's billing.
it wont be long till ill have to mail in cheques to them.

When you are in the account management page , click on account you want to put time on, then hit subscribe, then click on which option you want for price, then hit continue again , that should bring you to page that says select payment method, upper top right corner is Manage Accounts click that and should bring up where you can edit your cards or other payment options like paypal

Thank you! I really hope that they make that system more user friendly and redo the design. I can't imagine someone having to navigate that without having Stratics. I can just imagine how many new players give it the finger and walk away.

Yes the account management is a total mess. It still baffles me why this isn't top priority for them to sort it out. Sure some people have had no issues at all but its almost a weekly thing now seeing posts with people having problems.

Also ever since reading this thread I have removed my card from the monthly billing and now just buy gametime codes and apply them to my accounts. He never did say what happened in the end.

Petra's guide worked. I wish the account page would include a small bit of text saying if you need to edit your CC, do this.
