Lightshot really works well for stuff you arnt trying to take screen shots on the fly. You can upload them instantly to their site

CC also works with paint, at least for me. Press print screen, open pain, paste, then edit using paint tools.

It's great. I've been using it for years myself. It's the most streamlined I know of in pasting, cropping, and saving in one's favorite format.

Tip: In Windows 8/8.1; pressing the Windows key + Print Screen, creates a folder (only the first time you do it) and saves the screen shot right away in .png format.
