*DEVS - Can someone PLEASE explain what is going on with IDOCS

"It's still broken at the moment but we are working on it". Thats what its looks like to me.

It looked like to me: "We made a change (without telling anyone), and didn't think about people moving houses needing more than a few hours to relocate their stuff... oops, we'll fix that."

This is something that could have been easily avoided. "Due to a serious problem we had to change decay rates on houses, so please don't condemn any houses without taking your items out first. This could also effect boats, aquariums, battle chickens, and other timer related systems, so if possible dry dock your boats, and keep an eye on your add-ons."

If they do this... no one loses a house or a boat. I really don't get it. :/

True, for players who read Stratics. The unknown number of players who don't frequent these forums would still be out of luck.

Put the announcements like this on UO.com and especially on that splash screen that opens up every time we launch the client, in clear and direct language ... I know not everyone reads it, but we can't seriously ask EA/Mythic/Broadsword to do more than put in on every screen every time someone logs in, people need to take some level of responsibility

Totally agree. The fact that they don't do this is why those who don't read Stratics are at a disadvantage.

That isn't the issue. The issue is it's currently unpredictable when the house foundation will collapse. So it' makes it difficult for people who may need to juggle a house plot on one account and not lose all their possessions. It also makes it difficult for people who make a living off collecting things people don't want when their accounts close. Once a house falls, it's pretty simple to pick stuff up off the ground

So what I said is correct in that this is really about looting stuff from people who stopped playing. As for juggling a house plot, I can't help but feel less than nothing if you lose your stuff simply because one waited to move everything. You get a new plot and you move right away, simple.

So what you said is NOT correct. The timers impact other things as well. Prime example of fish tanks and fish dying off that should not. As other have pointed out it can take months to get a rare spawn. I suppose you will now say "Too bad so sad"? Would you rather they just remove fish tanks?

You guys bring up random points after the fact. The OP was talking about IDOC's not fish, and if they removed the fish it would reduce server load which was part of this issue anyways.

Its not a random point. Its another part of the game possibly being impacted by a bug. You are trying to spin it like "Oh only the leeches care so who cares about them anyway." . You always were a posterior orifice.

LOL. I'm not trying to spin it but I do find it funny the way this thread has gone. Out of the 100 posts(not including my trolls) 4 speak about boats or fish, so really this is all about IDOC's and poor people missing out of the loot. So yea, cry me a river.

P.S. I might be an ass but if everyone else had held the dev team to the same standard stuff like this wouldn't fly. Kissing every random globe that posted here once in a very blue moon has done nothing but advance the feelings of nothing bad will come of this.

As someone one who idocs all the time, once i figured out the aprox decay rate made no difference to me. If it stays the same, I just have less time to wait, and less competition. There is still plenty of time to gather the things on the ground, that is not a factor at all.

I posted what i was finding because people were unaware of the change and risked losing houses unintentionally. If you haven't played in 6 months...yep I will happily scoop up your stuff. I'll keep some, sell some and give some away.

whether or not you agree with the rules and policies about how long you have to move things. Or how you feel about people who pay a month to get 3 doesn't change the fact that the change should have been announced.

I agree, but only for houses that follow their regular stages (SL,SW,FW,GW,IDOC), Yes, I figured the time myself as well, BUT there is a lot of houses Going down at SW or FW stages!!

pretty sure the dev team wouldnt let houses fall in 14 hours...from going like new....if they did...jesus!!! such a easy fix to stop all decay too untill the problem is resolved....wonders if its just another clean up they are doing again???

He meant, that the IDOC stage lasted 14 hours, not the full decay cycle.

Yes....... most houses that I am watching at IDOC stage already, is past 13 hours since it turned IDOC and they still up!!!

Few others that I know of... went down at FW stage or even earlier!

02 castles that were Slight Worn.... this Morning they just VANISHED with all inside too!!
