I was happy to see in June that some players on Balhae apparently decided to get involved with the governor system. There was a governor in Britain ("Haven") and one in Minoc ("Drow"). [ http://uo2.stratics.com/essays-and-...lty-councils/britannian-election-results-asia ]
However, I noticed this evening that in both towns, the stones now say, "Governor-Elect: Pending King's Choice" and Drow is the governor of Jhelom. (All the other town stones also say "Governor-Elect: Pending King's Choice.") I recall seeing the name on the stone in Britain because I pop in there every so often, but can't really say for sure that I actually looked at the Minoc or Jhelom stones in June right after the election. So maybe the chart on Stratics was supposed to say Jhelom all along for Governor Drow?
In any event, since the governor of Britain has mysteriously been kicked out of office, I'm wondering if Balhae now has an EM who is getting involved with helping players with governorship issues?
I also noticed that the fountain in Britain near the WBB has lost its floating hearts display from Valentine's Day, although the town criers still advise players to go collect their Valentine Gift from the West Britain Bank. Also, I ran into a player about a week ago who had heard there was an event on Balhae last Friday, but there's nothing noted about it on the Balhae EM website (last news there is from 1.5 years ago) and the EM forum for Balhae here hasn't seen any new information for about 2 years. Also, the EM hall in Britain looks unchanged from the last time I checked it months and months ago.
Since I spend a good portion of my limited playing time these days keeping a small shop and a pet vendor on Balhae stocked, I really am curious about what is going on with the shard and any efforts that might be underway to beef up the population with actual living, breathing, attended players. It would be good to know if someone is actually able to act in an EM capacity for the shard once in a while. I know Arirang, the other shard for Korean-speaking players, has a pretty active EM. But I have a sneaking suspicion that EM is actually a player from Balhae and therefore can't be the EM for Balhae.
So, can anyone from Broadsword actually say at this point what's going on with Balhae with regard to an EM presence?
