Why this damn hush hush with servers !!!

Google a bit but i cant find anything about the current population on the servers , it kinda pisses me off due to i have not played for a few years and some month back i made a trial account to check out the game some i went to europa server and played about 2-3 hours and i met one guy at brit bank durring that period of time. So cant say that was to funny. Felt a bit poop considering Europa was high population

Can you read anywhere about the current population? or why this hush hush sucks if you come either as new or as old and no idea where the heck to go.

Guy i met in brit bank said Atlantic server have some action , however im setup on Euro so to speak i dont need to start fresh in case the Atlantic server is the place to be cuz i started there back in uhm 1997 or so.

Downside is when i had the trial account i tried Atlantic some aswell but dident really meet any ppl , on the other hand im not sure i care so mutch about the ppl more or nostalgic point of view for me atm.

Try going to Luna bank in Malas (use the moongate), that should solve your problems. The implementation of Luna killed West Brit Bank as a gathering place.

You can also try West Brit Bank at 7 cet to 8. Meeting with vetreans, returning and new people. Discussing repairing giving new people a helping hand and needful info. Layed back and exellent food. We have a few regular events as for different tastes as well . Weekly auction, chicken fights, crafters meet, new warriors meet (very soon),bagball poker and the city governours own events. Em Gotan is great. etc..Apart from theese things in the evenings , the map is huge and people spred out. Trades happens mainly in general chat so banksitting is of no interest exept that one hour every day. And the community here is great. Mature and helpful most of the time and we love our shard.

Hey, I played back in april for a month(first time player) and had a good time. At first like you, thought the server was inactive since New Haven at that time was almost empty. Then some people from *HLP guild found me and invited me in their guild and had people to talk and have fun with, they also helped me with many things since I am still learning the game.
Then it happened after the month was done that my card expired same time and process to re-issue was a lot slower where I live. On top of it had some RL issues to deal with so I returned around 2 days ago back in Europa. My old guild(*HLP) kicked me to inactivity and first day I played I didnt find anyone around or almost. Then the 2nd day found a couple people while trying out shame dungeon(and getting my ass kicked till someone helped me a bit), and a couple more lvling spots to see if I handle them so I can move out of killing elementals in new haven mine. Finding more people gave me the confindence that it would be worth to take a gate and check all possible destinations mentioned in trammel, and among them passed from fully empty britain but ended up finding a lot people on Luna and realized that was the gathering spot.
There I had a chat with lots people on general char mostly, and even one of them was very nice and gave me a house he had for free. Ok I cant buy furniture etc yet I guess, but sure motivates to do more and try work it up. Moreover people said they seen my previous guild around so I may catch up with them.
So my advice would be try drop by luna on early night hours. Knowing also they help returning vets get re-adjusted to the game and have fun you may want to join the *HLP guild if you find them. For events I dont know, I am too new and never been in one yet, but one thing I can tell is the community of Europa seems still awesome

Thanks alot for your inputs , decided im going to reopen my old account from 97 or whenever i now created it. downloading the client atm adrenaline is flowing lol. I love this game wish everyone who ever tried this game had the chance to relive it as we had it back in 97- sutch an awsome game..

Something i really miss tho is there should be like with dark age of camelot back in the days it showed numbers on the servers would be so mutch easier to know where to go and play.

Anyways , old vet comming back a bit i guess would be fun if some old faces were still around

They seem very cool, most are from atlantic? And got to admit classic client, even inventory less practical, graphs are more appealing to the fantasy theme of UO. But I cant find how to chat in global chat etc on classic client while on enhanced its easy changing channels

Even if a server claimed it has x amount number of people on it, there is so many lands and facets that it will sell seem empty. Alot of vets and new people return, always a chance to meet some old friends of yours down the line. You may never know..

A good way to find out about players on a Shard is using the GENERAL chat...... toggle it ON and use the "," (comma) key to start talking in it (this is for Classic Client, not sure how it works with the Enhanced) ....

If you are looking for a highly populated Shard, then Atlantic has the most players currently.
Other Shards may have less, but there is people around, only it is that UO has a LOT of hunting areas and things to do and nowadays, with the Global Vendors' Search engine, it is no longer necessary to "bank sit" so you will see in general less people sitting at banks....

I found Atlantic was just a little to big for my taste when it came to finding the size of house I wanted it where I wanted it. It's a pricey shard also cause there's a lot of people wanting the good stuff. Great Lakes worked for me, good population, good PvP action if your into that, and there's still nice house spots available in nice locations. I was on Chessie this weekend (I get around, lol) and found it hard to find things I needed on vendors that are common things on Great Lakes. After playing Great Lakes I found Chessie a little too quiet for my taste. So it's really worth checking out several shards to see what fits for you. A less populated shard might be great if you really need a castle, or like not being bothered as much competing for resources. But in general I would love to know what the populations are, but I don't see them giving that info out. Perhaps we could get a ranking of which shards are the most populated, it would be interesting to really know. My guess it would be Atlantic then Great lakes here in the states.

Chessie has a good population. There's a few vendor malls, but not many. As most people's characters are well developed, it just isn't cost-effective for most of us to try to keep supply/basic suit vendors stocked. Angelica has a good mall in Luna for basic supplies and new character gear. Unknown, if you see him, is also known for crafting suits and such for new players. We have a good population of goblin roleplayers; any of them will also help. Or just look for me (Brian DeSpell), Celestial Knight, Phoenix, Tehan... the list goes on, but generally, almost anyone on the shard will happily help a new or returning player get started. If you ask in general chat, especially in the 7-8 am or evening EST hours, you'll likely find quick assistance.
