First off, loads of fun... waiting for a ship to appear somewhere... I was kinda taken back and was board after a good hour of sailing fel waters... but then BAM... a pirate ship...

I had pre loaded w/ a mix of heavy balls and scatter shot... and rammed sideways into this boat with vengeance.. and in a matter of seconds I had to do emergency repair, sail off and regroup. Damn, that hit hard. Boat was jacked...

Went back, and did some defensive maneuvers .. and was able to subdue it... but one cannon kept jacking me...

Disabled again, I was able to keep reloading my cannons till it could not fire no more.

Two orc mages left, taken out w/ some magery.

What's this red dude? Why can't i Kill him....

...

Boarded! Disarm mo fo!!! Holy cow... he hits hard... nevermind.. .OOOOOoOooOOOOooOO...

*scratches head*

Comes back to boat on tamer, with GD, loot boat.. while healing... hmmm.... why wont he die...

Left him alive, and looted.

----------------

Thoughts on the whole experance:

Cannons are not bad on loading... as long as you keep supplys in hand.

What a pain to repair ship... process ez.. but damn char can't hold 2K boards... and 2K cloth... had em in hold, but grabbing 200-400 at a time... common!!

Can you kill the red pirate? I had GD on him while casting magery, life would drop a tad, go back up.

I got so much booze, ima be drunk for a year, at least i have tons of fruit to wash it down with...LOL

Some washes, and stuff ima have to look up now to figure out wtf they do... hmmmm...

-----------------

Overall, im happy with it... now to figure out how to fire a whole side of the ship at once, while controlling it. I was able to do two at once, while reloading and that whole process, I setup a UOA macro, but I think just clicking is just as fast...:D

Time to go find a MERCH ship now... heh.

Ah... I see your problem...
Sugar you didnt have any crew?
Ok lets see if we can make this more simple for the next time.
If you go solo, to disable the ship use the heavy shot.
This slows, then stops the ship from moving.
Best angle is from its Aft end (tail of the ship).
Your out of cannon range for the most part in this angle but in danger of the crew of the pirate ship.
For them you change over to the grape shot.. this will take care of those pests.
It will also do a bit of dammage to the captain. A Small bit.
Once the ship is dammaged to a total hault and you have desamated the crew... now you go after the captain.
You can loot the crew.. who have stuff and the chests on board and holds.
Your best bet is a warrior/sampire on him.. it will take time but on the good side he is not that powerfull.
I hope this helps you out Sweety.
Good luck.

Right my samp!! Good plan. Ill have to bust him out on the next voyage. :)

I FIGURD the good ol reliable GD would do the trick but she just kept him at bay. :)

I had a crew but with many days at sea. After the meat and crackers gave out. We resorted to cannibalism ..

Well, they were designed with multiple people in mind :p. Trick sometimes is to just angle/fire quick enough in order to absorb less damage to your own ship. But if you are after the Orc Ship, it's nice to have a friend or two to help out.

Welp was sailing around, drinking the booze from the smuggler ship from yesterday when I ran into this!

A slurry of cannon blasts later!

Not as "fun" as the pirate ship, they did not put up a fight, I would have thought after the first blast they would have attacked back. Nope.

Did not get anything special but instead of fruit it had ore, and boards, and logs... Leather .. Hides...

... :D I was on my necro warrior, just in case I ran into another pirate ship. Now back to getting supply's up, this life is costly!

On a side note. I found another player ship on route back to my casa. I left you blown to bits... But did leave some pirate wine for your enjoyment. Enjoy the repairs!

If you go to the floating sea market, you can get a job going after a named pirate, it will put shackles on your boat and give you an approximate location.

You can do it solo, GD's work fine on the captain, it just takes a bit and you will need to heal it from time to time. I keep poison field on the captain while my dragon tanks him. When you sail back to the floating sea market with the captain, you get a reward for turning him in. I will have a second character on my ship (I have 2 accounts) who is an archer and I will have him sling arrows at the captain. When I turn in, I get 2 rewards.

If you get a crew, it goes a lot quicker and plenty of rewards for everyone!

Azmo... Great Lakes has a plot going on that centers around the High Seas expansion. Slavers and Pirates have filled the Valorian Seas between Jhelom and Skara Brae. We usually do an event involved with it every Wednesday. This week they did it on Monday, where they went and mapped the oceanic borders between Skara and Jhelom. They got chased off by some pirates. If you interested in doing some bigger crew minded stuff, you're welcome to join up. We keep information posted on gl.uorpc.net all the time, and the calendar on the left of the GLUOPC page is continually updated with all future events.

To get the best loot from pirating, go to Zento docks and sail south. The tokuno style merchant ships there give the most loot for the least cannon shots. Get on their tail and you will need to make few if any repairs afterwards. Pirates are really only best for collecting the parts of the orc ship plans.

I was confused at first as well. When I started looking into it, I was led to understand that Bigglesby was the NPC to get the quests from which is wrong. You need to look for the message board.

When you double click the bulletin board it will tell you which pirates have bounties which can be collected.

piracy1.jpg

You will notice the guy in blue sitting right next to the bulletin board, his name is Miles the Officer. He is the one you get the quests from. You should be able to find him or another officer in the same spot in Fel.

piracy2.jpg

When you double click him, you will get the quest to turn in any one of the pirate bounties listed on the board. You then need to go outside and wait around. Eventually one of the patrons or people outside will tell the coordinates where one of the wanted pirates are.

Find your way to the coordinates and the safest way is to attack from behind the ship where there are no cannons. I attack the orcs with my pets and then fire heavy grapeshot until they are dead and then I switch to heavy cannon balls. When the ship is half way destroyed it will look like this.

piracy3.jpg

Keep firing until you see more damage appear, you can then click on one of the mooring lines and travel over to the pirate ship. Attack the captain with your dragon and loot the holds. When the captain is down to about 8% health, start using the binding rope you got with the quest. You will bind him and he will appear on your ship on the shackles which you can see in the picture here. You then sail back to the sea market and pull up right next to the shack with the officer in it. Turn in the quest and then you and anyone on your party will get a reward. The only downside to the quests is the long travel time back and forth. I wish they would speed the boats up even more to make the pirate quests and the fishmonger quests speedier and more enjoyable. I hope this helps some! :)

Its far easier and quicker to go to Tokuno, get the quest from the guy on their dock (southern Zento), and then find the pirates by sailing around. You don't have to find a specific name, capturing ANY pirate will do to successfully end the quest. You can also simply kill the pirate for a death certificate which can be turned in for quick 1,000 gold.

When doing them in Tram, it may take a bit to get to the location but you do not have to do any blind sailing to find the pirate. Many times, I run into another one on the way and take that one instead.

I will try the Tokuno to see if I like it better or if it is faster. Thanks for the info on it! :)
