Seems like it has been a while since publish 85. I'm interested in the loot changes which was mentioned in a few sessions with the devs. How is the publish coming along? Any rough ETA the devs could share with its playerbase?

I can unserstand your need for information on the publish.
We all would love to get updates on progress... but it would pull them off projects that need the time to get working.
But to stop every 5 minutes for something is not getting the main job done... if you get my drift.
We ask alot from the small team of Dev.
I hope its July too.. on the plate is RtB, EC's UI that pinco is working on... and then there is the Advocates program to get up and running.
Just remember even though writing code these days is rather quick, the meshing if it with the old code and testing and Q&A time is the real issue.
If anything the Dev want this to be done... they have otehr fish to fry in the comming months and the longer this drags out the less work they set up to do doesnt get done...

Asking for solid communication isn't "a lot," in fact, its really very little and would take but a few minutes out of someone's day once or twice a week. It would also go an incredibly long way towards customer service, satisfaction and retention.
Same here but I think that will be longer. Be amazing to come in July though.
It's big for a patch with no real new content. But they need to get the Counselor Program tools just right so that particular aspect isn't buggy.
I don't expect VvV to be a part of pub 86, more likely to be the bulk of pub 87 in Sept or Oct, assuming testing goes well.
So what are the planned additions for Publish 86? VvV was the only thing I expected out of it. If it's not in though, I expect maybe it will come early to mid July.
We don't really know what's in 86, aside from a few tidbits they've let slip. (Shame loot rollout, possible EC ui update, possible hi-res art update, etc)

I think pub 86 is gonna be more shame loot in global dungeons/area and revamp of transure maps and hopefully charybdis loot also
I hope this is a large part of Pub 86. Maybe they will fix the loot groups so you can have some more diversity. I wish they would add FC2 as a capped property too since the Orny has the corner on the market and that is a 11 year old item.
Careful what you ask for. Once you start asking for more max-cap prop. items, things can get a little too Dragon Ball Z ;P.
If the Orny is one of the few items that still has value, that isn't a bad thing...I'd rather look at it and say, this is an item that has stood the test of time (kind of, most would rather get jewelry with DCI at this point I'd imagine).
At this point with nothing happening and NO communication people are growing restless. It's WELL BEYOND time we get some serious communication to at least keep us interested in paying our subs. At this point there are 100's of other fish in the sea so to speak and those fish are looking better all the time.

I saw this little blurb in the DAoC "Grab Bag" post last Friday and wonder if it will also apply to UO:
"Q: Things are being worked on. God bless. But is there anyway we could see what you are working on and your priority list are at todays game ?
A: On the horizon are a few initiatives which will broaden the communication between Broadsword and our players. Basic information given through, say, the Grab Bag can be informative – but it’s not always the best way to communicate our vision and progress. We are looking forward to providing video patch notes, dev diaries, and interviews/Q & A with the Dev team so that you can receive important information on a more frequent basis!"

I wonder when or if we will ever hear from Rob Denton, the head of Broadsword, anything regarding UO?

The (lack of) communication under Messana has always been poor. There are little fits and starts that quickly die back to nothingness.
It's a shame, but we are hovering just above maintenance mode and that's the way it's going to be from now on.
It seems they are working on Virtue and Vice but they have had far more misses than hits in recent years with new content so I don't hold out much hope for this one.

It just boggles my mind the state of Ultima Online these days with the lack of communication, I mean has there yet been a reason why Return to Britannia was delayed or cancelled? What is the plan for dieing servers with low populations. Why is Richard Garriott visiting player run servers and why is it a crime that I believe our servers should be as active as those. Listen to what he says at the 1 hour 19 minute mark for some reason the video skips that blurb.
I like the dude 5 minutes in like STAHP DUELING MEH! lol wow so RG is using third party programs on an emulated shard...that is kinda weird. He's a smart guy...there has to be a legal reason why he agreed to do that? It is pretty modern though, has the Broadsword move.
Well, that isn't really a lot of people, I'm sure Atlantic could do that. Also, look at all the *******s typing the same thing, filling the screen with spam. Tons of people =/ a great experience.

RG showing up on an illegal shard is kind of a phallus move, IMHO.
