Hey guys,

After a long hiatus I have just reactivated my account. I am on europa and decorating my house etc, but was just wondering what everyone does these days. Obviously everyone is different and depends what char you play etc, but what is a typical day on uo for you? And what do you do for fun? I have Stygian Abyss and have returned to the game periodically but the lasttime I played seriously was probably 2006 so feeling a bit lost :)

A percentage of players sit on Stratics and pancake about the game. The remaining players log in and go find something to do....

Oh, and welcome back. Find a guild, they should be able to help you get reestablished.

I do many things, and playing as I do on Siege Perilous, it is far more of a challenge to do/collect things than on normal shards, which keeps things interesting. But most things revolve around the guild I am in. Hunting with your friends, for me, is the single most important thing in the game whether you get anything at the end of it or not. I have never grown tired of champion spawns and it is always great when you find a valuable scroll that one of your guildmates is needing. We also do IDOCs, boss mobs and occasional major hunts like our recent twenty-four hour champ challenge where we tried to do all of the various champ spawn locations in a single day, or our periodic attempts at the UO Void Pool record.

Personal goals I have which keep me interested in the game include:

Collecting things. I am trying to collect every one of the Doom artifacts, Stygian Abyss artifacts and champ spawn special drops. I don't look to buy these, I just try to pick them up from the hunts I am involved with. I also try to collect things like certain named holiday gifts and rares, especially deco stuff.

IDOCs. I have always loved this aspect and the chance of getting something unusual.

EM events, player events and King's Council meeting.

Making suits. Even though I have lots of different suits for different occasions, I am always looking for an upgrade if possible. And on Siege, nothing lasts you forever.

Running a large guild.
And all that involves.

Watching the world go by. I frequently just muck around at home watching General Chat. It is a good way to see what is going on and get a handle on people.

I would say your top priority should be to try and find a good guild on Europa that matches your play style and interests.

If you are rich, buy new suits for all your characters, because they are way our of date. Frankly, that's a boring way to play UO.

First, build new suits by going to Shame and Covetous to add looting the good stuff for our armor. You will eventually replace everything with armor that you imbue yourself. Unless you PvP, I've yet to find weapons worth keeping.

Then go to SA and farm Navery to get a Tangle or two - nice addition for your belt slot. Two weeks spent here and you'll have what you need and wanting to move onto something else. The other peerless in the mini-champ spawns have nice items too, like the Insane Tinker Legs for dexxers.

Learn to make your own suits with the Imbuing skill, and replace the items you got from Shame. Even a less than perfect suit can be really awesome now. I spend less than 2 million gold making any of my suits, but you can easily spend hundreds of millions if you go nuts.

There are many quests and areas to explore that have been added since 2006. Try them all at least once, and you will stay busy for the next year or so.

Most importantly, make friends along the way. Stop and say hello and invite someone along as you go through all the quests. Making friends is one of the best things about UO - you will remember your friends long past the time you've forgot about the shinies you've found.

Wondering how to design my newly placed house.
Wondering if I should try to tame a pack of 5 awesome frenzied ostards again.
Wondering when I actually have time to play the game again:(

(very hard to decide bit of a horder)... fishing, fighting, hunting... planning and running events, going to auction... Heckling fellies in gen chat... role-playing on other shards,...

Living in the slow lane here. Little bit of roleplay when I'm in the mood. Growing a few plants, baking a few cakes, etc.

I am hoping to see a taming update with expanded stables. If that happens, the first thing will be to go out and tame 5 awesome frenzied ostards.

Sitting, scratching my head trying to remember where I put IT. Then spending way too much time going through crates trying to find IT. And of course it always involves going though the same crates time and time again trying to find IT. :rant2:

For a few years now I have been doing the public garden in Magincia on Baja. Although most don't care about it I still feel like I'm doing something nice for the shard. I've been playing on Siege more and more and I love the challenge and community. So training up chars, trying to find stuff to deco my houses, guild hunts, solo hunts with either my mystic or archer or tamer. Fishing up treasure, treasure hunting, learning about the people behind the pixels, guild chat, global chat, finding stuff to build a decent suit but not so decent people want to umm... borrow it. Try to be a little entertaining to help create an environment that makes people feel like it's safe to open up a bit.

I love EM events but haven't had much time lately to attend. Baja has an awesome EM. Farming resources for suits, waiting for husband to come rez me.. again. Running to go rez my husband.. again. :p Attending player run events and trying to support those that put effort into that. They are the best people in game!

Never get bored, always something to do. And if I do well, there is always re-building that spreadsheet again of the locations of stored items. :lie:

As of now my in game time is going mostly into restocking resources for crafting.
This means all imbuing ingredients, peerless (ML) ingredients, reagents and stuff for alchemy and inscription and all that. At the same time I am alsoworking on BODs collection as I also need to restock runics....
When I feel my stocks are high again, I will need to also take care of the refinement ingredients for invulnerability and that will also take some time...
Not to mention, that I am also at zero for fletching and chisel runics.....

I got plenty to do and time is never enough........
Also need to find the time sometimes to work on my legendary fishing, lots of hard to catch fishes out there !!

Not to mention that my dexer still needs a slither which I cannot afford to buy and I would need to also find the time to hunt for it........

Oh, on the to do list is also a ton of Exodus runs so as to be able to collect the Commendation scrolls for all my characters who are complaining already...

There is so many things that can be done in Ultima Online, and places that one can go to, that I always find myself with too few time at hand for all that I need to get done in the game..... no time to get bored for me at all !!!

Welcome back. Be prepared to have lots of fun stuff to do. Let's see my day starts with checking the Player Center to see if there are messages, make replacement kits, replace supplies. Then it is off to check my vendor, restock if needed. After that is depends on my mood. Stress=mining or fishing. From trying to find an item, you know the one put in a place easy to find.
Restless = hunting. Evenings is friend time. We might go hunting but often we just hang around talking. Friday's are the weekly hunt organized by Governor Rowan and Saturdays are EM Augustus's events. In between, I build skills on three accounts and craft. Trying very, very hard not to redo my main house. All of which is done in rp character.

WELCOME BACK!!!!

First off if it were me i'd spend an evening reading the back logs of stratics publishes and news. This will give you a gist of the new changes we have had and the news will also give you a bit of what to expect with future publishes to come and where we are going.
Stratics here i'd read back a few pages of the forums and get an idea of the pro's and cons.
Yea I know, its mostly pancakes but there are nuggets of valuable info for game play and can keep you out of trouble.
Second UOGUIDE.... look in and read and surf that bunch web pages..
Very valuable info and can give you a heads up on things to be worth your time.
Investing this time will be a fast and more accurate way of gleeming the games working to date.
Europa like all the shards is a world unto itself.
Time and players wax and waine in the day so dont let quiet or empty places fool you. We are all out there..
Come have fun and as I said before kitten.... Welcome Back.

Thanks everyone :) this helps loads and I also find it interesting finding out what people get up to! I remember I used to read stratics a lot and there was one guy who was a thief and did like a cartoon strip of what he got up to. I enjoyed that one.

My gear is mainly 100% LRC and some all 70's, that was the good suits of the day so will be good to find out what is considered good gear now. I think I will have to start the imbuing skill!

I will look through all those sites thankyou. Looking forward to getting back into this game :))

Thankyou all for the welcomes!!

Yes, Welcome Back.
Lots of new stuff to get into since 2006 for sure.
You'll like the abyss dungeon and items, and the High seas booster pack with the big ships, pirates and fish
quests is nice too. The new Blackthorn dungeon is pretty cool also.

Welcome Back!

I hail from the most envious of shards - SP! I lurk about, here and there. ;) If you always wanted to try your pvp skills hand here, another incentive is that you now can own a house on SP and one on prodo shard with no fear of it going IDOC. Call out in Gen chat, there is someone always around to help! :)

Thanks everyone. Minerva, I did go to see the RAA Shop, great little set up there. Very helpful. I have managed to join a guild, albeit a very quiet one. Europa seems deserted, is it worth transferring over to Atlantic?

CURRENTLY .....SO MUCH TO DO...

touring all 27 shards...getting a feel for each....some are a lot more active than others...some shards are ghostly quiet....ALSO trying to place a castle on every shard....[why not]....yes shards like atlantic will take lot of effort...not too fussed on high population shards at the moment.....happy to tick the other shards off....just a personal quest this one....ALSO trying to get a stealth/mage char +50 skilled up with a sorc suit and set of runebooks and spellbook....good enough to take on the lower dungeon levels on each shard....making freinds on each shard.....and making enemeies for purey being there [strange but some shards true] and visiting any shard uniquites....its great fun but very time consuming....

I love your idea THP. I can only have 1 house, but making a character on each shard and training them up, so I have a viable char on each shard....hmmm

Many players do this particularly to participate to EM Shards' Events as the more one goes to, the more chances to get EM Event items !!
