OK Mesanna said the End of May... as for the month bit.. Remembr there kiddo RTB doent stop house decay. So if an account is on 90th day that house of yours will fall. RTB only means the account log in is open and does not effect the decay timer.
Oh as a side note, Start to notify your old friends and relitives that RTB will be here soon and perhaps we can have a good showing. Steam it away

This is exactly what I have been doing. They then try to get a new password and the website just throws up an error every time! Perhaps a note to some of the bloggers who do the game reports on the web mags and give them a heads up?
RTB is mostly for old players that want to open their closed accs they dont wanna pay for... I really dont see the need for it anymore.
The lack of a global story arc or event will leave anyone who bothers returning felling rather "meh." RTB needs a hook to keep people playing past the end of the free time. Without one, don't bother.

I thought Governors were supposed to have the tools to give us live events, no? If so, they could coordinate events to run simultaneously with the RTB. No need to wait six months for new content specifically for the RTB.

I thought they were scrapping factions in favor of a permanent new way of pvping in Fel?
RTB is usually held around UO's anniversary, around September, but we didn't get it last year and maybe the year before? So it's lagging behind.
It was said May, as someone mentioned above, May, year not specified, but implied the May following the State of UO Address, so May as in May 2014.
Come June 1, 2014 I will know one thing for sure, if our Dev team is legit or not.
That is what it boils down to for some.
Do what you said you were going to do even though lot's of people will be outside in the pool and not on the computer in May.
Then do it again in September or October when more people are shut up inside due to chilly weather.
To draw back older players who have quit the game and for players who are looking to return but will now have the option to try out the game for free with their old accounts.

Yup. Same for a bunch of former players on Lake Superior. One of the players I kept in contact with over the years did a lot of tracking down (read: Stalking. haha) of old players ICQ's & other stuff and made a Facebook group for us (Mostly the old PvP community on LS. it's A LOT more civil a decade later, haha)
While there's a few who still play, some of the people in the group were looking forward to it happening, as am I. I reactivated last Monday, but my Gametime code will expire on the 12th. While I do intend to keep playing after it expires, it'd be nice to get a week or two for free before I buy another one.
I only had 1 account active until I re-opened a 2nd account during a RTB one year. I was surprised to find how much stuff those chars had in their banks and the skills leveled, I decided to start paying on that account too. I had a couple other temporary accounts over the years. It would be nice to log into them to see if it might be worth starting up a third account now.
No, governors currently have no tools available to them to run events, they have the same limitations any normal player does. They potentially have access to a few bells and whistles, should their EMs decide to cooperate, but the system is severely limited in imagination and scope.
Furthermore, relying on the governors to lure people back is a bad idea. Not all of them run events (in fact, most don't), and most shards don't even have a full council. There are also issues of timing, financing, and IRL things that pop up necessitating not being in game.
RTB needs something going on during its entire run 24/7, not an hour here and there that people have to somehow find out about. Since the governor system is RP-oriented, their events tend to be too. Sadly, that's not everyone's cup of tea.
I chose October because VvV should be out and there should be something Halloweenie to do that isn't dependent on other players to provide. They could turn ToT back on
VvV isn't an event, but it could be a hook to get people to stay. PvP, according to those who like it, was a big draw for UO. VvV, theoretically, is a PvP system designed to replace the putrid corpse that is factions. Hopefully, the focus group works out, doesn't implode or get bullied by one player like the last one did, and we get a strong system that people think is fun.
September would work too, but I think combining VvV and a PvM event for RTB is the best approach. Appeal to as wide an audience as possible, and advertise the heck out of it. Doing it in the fall definitely has the weather advantage going for it.
