You don't really get him stuck in a corner (at least with the method I am familiar with), it's more of trapping yourself in a corner where he can not pathfind to do direct damage to you. He can still get you with his area attacks. You are limited as well, no direct damage, but it allows you to cast EV or RC.

Yeah he's not stuck down there... We had a tank down there working him over while we healed and used range attacks.
