How can one check which character learned what tiered Quest ?

Other than having to cycle through all of my 7 characters each time I need to know it at the related NPC for a given tiered Quest, how can I check more easily (and fastly) which of my characters has learned what tier by which NPC ?

I tried the right click hoovering on the characters but could not find any reference to the tiered Quests system.

Thanks.

High tech, I am impressed............

What if the piece of paper gets lost ? Maybe, JUST maybe it would be helpfull to have the right click character Menu be capable of displaying what Tiered Quests, Recipes and what not a given character has learned ?

Just "maybe".........

It amazes me how many 'bullies' there are throughout these forums. Honestly, I'm disappointed. If you can't answer a question in a civilized way, then why answer at all? You should just bypass it altogether.

Popps, unfortunately I don't have an answer for you. If there is an answer to this question, I hope you find it.

I use a text file.

Unfortunately for you, there is no way to know the specific quest tier, without taking each character to the quest giver and see which quests are offered. I am guessing you're referring to the Ter-Mur quests here: http://uo2.stratics.com/questing/thepem-and-zosilem. If so, you do not need to check with Thepem, since his quest are prerequisites for Zosilem. You only need to ask Zosilem. If he does not offer you any, you are on Thepem's tier.

It is best to do these quests with 1-2 characters, since it takes a fair amount of time/resources to advance through the tiers. It is perfectly fine to use other characters to gather the required materials, because they are better suited. Simply put the materials in a box at your house, that way you can gather as many as you want.

You will have to keep track this manually (however it works best for you). Maybe you want to jot it down in your character's profile.

Unfortunately, with time passing by, characters being transferred to other shards, it is easy to loose track on which character has learned what.....

Personally, I think that the game should allow an easier way to players to be able to tell which character learned what.

Perhaps in the Paperdoll, perhaps the right click Menu, whatever... but I think that for a game that has been ongoing for 17 years with players leaving and coming back to it after years, there should be more accessible ways to "see" one's own character's detailes rather then having to "keep paper notes" or computer files....

You can always apply to Broadsword and fix it if you are qualified.

I agree the Tier quests are a pain in the butt when I did them but then again UO is a sandbox game. Sometimes features like that are overlooked. Add that devs comes and goes and they are trying to improve the game on previous devs and things do get put on the back burner.

Maybe give the dev team a chance to get things they are working on now fixwed and done before trying to add more to them. There is a dev section you can ask them questions or give suggestions to.

Is it possible at least how far one is along the tier work ?

I mean, in between the Zosimus tier 2 and tier 3 there is 20 quests with a 2 hours down time.

Clearly, one needs to do them over time in weeks or months, perhaps, depending on how much time one can play.

So, it would not hurt to be able to "look" how many of the 20 required quests one has done and how far into getting the work done one is......

I did check the Quests button on the Paperdoll but I could not find any status regarding my tiers work. It just lists what Quests are active and not yet done.

on a related side note, ive never dont that quest but in reading the write up im struck by something.... why on earth would you go into Medusa and do that over and over just to get the items off the undead gargoyles? why not just kill them in the tomb of the kings?
ive got a bunch of those horns and medallions laying around at my place that i got off of them from there.
saves going in and doing the Medusa 15 times, no?

The easy fix would just to drop the timer or cool down period between quests Popps. At least them if you had to kill an X amount of things you can go do it and get it over with and move onto the next Tier.

If the quests tells me to kill 20 things of these I should be able to count and know I killed 20 of those. I don't need something to tell me I killed them.

Btw I didn't know there was a Zosimus Tier quest Popps.

It was both a joke and an answer at the same time. If you really wanted to do this process make a excel spreadsheet which can then be copied and modified to suit with changes as they come up. It is saved to the same comp as you are currently on and can be viewed with ease. I did this for the game 10+ years ago and it now holds a lot of random information that I did use often.

i play off and on 5 yes five accounts i can actively remember where i have what on what account, i have houses on 3 shards and 5 houses on seige ty developers

if this is challenge you just play one or two toons :( i know bad reference lol,

game is a sand box enjoy it

wanders back too diablo 3 for current entertainment, or was it minecraft, entertainment sometimes is what u make of it!!!!!!! last weekend played killing blooms td LOL
what entertains me isnt what captivates you
as UO is a sandbox maybe instead of asking many, many questions delve in, offer answers,
competing in a sandbox game isnt needed, is made to be a time / fun sink not a wiki read path to happiness, play each character as a instance into a world not a pathbot into the known universe

Well, not all individuals are blessed by the same ability to remember things .... besides, I tend to put more attention into my real life things, not much really into a game I may play which is just a way to relax and stress out, hopefully.....

The game is a sandbox, yes, but that does not mean it could not go along with a more informative user interface....

I see nothing wrong in providing to players additional informations about their ndividual characters as to which character knows what recipes or it at what level of which tier Quest, just as an example.....

You are asking more than the game can do for you at this time.

I really do not see how you enjoy UO if you have so many issues on the game and what it can't do. The game is 17 years old. Its not new where they can code something in a week and have it in there.

The vendor search issue is priority atm on the dev team.

As it was said in another thread also, there is a dev section for such ideas and questions that you may get a direct answer to in a timely manner. I highly doubt they will reply to the thread when they are fixing other issues of importance.

You also have a chance to do the Dev meet and greet shard schedule to ask such questions about this and may get a direct response to it at those.

Sorry, but you're mistaken on that - those items only come from Medusa's lair. However I didn't do Medusa over and over to get them. I did Medusa when my guild chose to do it and let them know I would like the medalions if they found them.
I have done all the quest levels on one character only, selecting the most suitable quest from each level. I then let it be known that I would take the quests for anyone in the guild who provided the required quest items.
For example, I will take the quest for elixir of valorite conversion for anyone who supplies the infused glass staves without them having to go through the entire quest chain themselves.

I do agree though, it would be convenient to be able to have a 'completed' section of the quest log that shows which quests your character has done.

Not asking for an overnight game improvement, just noting that there is an issue of lack of in game characters' informations regarding recipes and tiered quests, to my opinion, which can be improved and bettered.
Is there anything wrong with it ?

And, in regards to the tiered Quests, at what point (how many quests of the lower tier of those requested to advance to the higher tier) of the journey one may be....

For example, over a year ago I started the 20 quests required to advance to the 3rd level for Zosilem, then I had issues with time and the gathering of the required quest items and stopped before completing them.

Now, I was thinking to resume the task but have no clue whatsoever whether I did just 1 or 2 of the requested 20 quests (meaning I still miss 18 or 19 to advance to tier 3...) or more.

So, I cannot farm the requested quests ingredients because I cannot know how many I need and I will just need to go by 1 quest at a time which I find it annoying... I would have preferred to just gather the entire number of the items needed for as many quests I still need to advance to level 3, and then just do all of the quests in a row and get to tier 3.

But I cannot, because I do not remember, and there is no way for me to check in the game how many of the required 20 quests I have already done...........

:) You have a different view to mine. I would perfer to farm a few and hand them in, then farm a few more. I get bored doing the same activity for too long at a time.
I'm a butterfly who flits from task to task frequently, rarely spending more than an hour on one activity.

I suggest you put a post on the Tweaks and suggestions thread. The game obviously tracks the quests, you simply need to have that tracking visible.

So, you're left with one of two options. Doing it 1 quest at a time (which really isn't that hard) or don't do it. If you really want to go back to these quests, however, you really just have one option.

Of course, you could always try what Barry suggested very early on and just take each character you think it may be to the quest giver and see what quests are offered...

That's what I did and, of course, thanking to my luck it was the 7th character I checked that was the one I used over a year ago to walk this tier journey.....
So, this found, now I will need to keep going 1 quest at a time not being able to know how many quests I have left to go 'till tier 3. Oh well......

You can also do more than one quest at a time, for the rewards. It will not hurt to have more quest rewards.

These quests will take time to complete, just enjoy yourself while doing them. They will still be there when you get around to them.
