Mining bonus gloves for gargoyle crafters !!

Gargoyles are still unable to use Dartboards. (not a huge issue i know), but a bigger issue is the Gargoyles inability to use +mining gloves. like the Ringmail with +5 bonus. any help on these would be appreciated.(Victim of Siege)
Could we get an option to alter Mining Gloves for a Gargoyle?
Gargoyles have become the crafter of choice with imbuing and reforging and since you need over 100 mining skill to max out salvaging...the mining gloves are somewhat necessray. (swroberts)
Blacksmith gloves of mining don't work on mr gargoyle, any chance, down the road, we can alter these in some way??Thnx(Bullseye_of_Atl)


Due to the fact the humans and elf’s have racial bonuses, we do not see any reason that Gargoyles should not have a racial bonus also. We are going to give the gargoyles a mining racial bonus.

"Gargoyle Only" pickaxes that have +5 mining on them. Can only be crafted by a gargoyle that have read the recipe. Give them the ability to spawn rare ores. Also beside mining skill bonus the Earth Elemental Slayer mod on exc made picks. While the code mages are working on the mining rare ore spawn. Add in the chance to spawn Dull Copper Eli and sneak in and add a 5 after the 2 on their ore loot count for all miners.

i like the idea, and my poor gargoyle is still waiting for that bonus, no matter how it comes.

I thought they made Blacksmithing skill affect smelting chance up to 105. I know that doesn't help with mining, but it does affecting ingots recovered from the smelting bag.

Yes. For smelting your mining or blacksmith skill is used. Depending on which is higher and it caps at 105.
This is one of the changes that i really liked. Simply becourse my main crafter has no room for mining left for some time now. (Doesnt help on a mining t-hunter gargoyle but its not possible to satisfy everybody. *g* )

Yeah, they need to make it to where you can equip them with a gargoyle for role-play, but you can mine with GPAs without equipping them.

I know this is an old post, but has anything been done since? Looks like to smelt anything above copper, Gargoyles have 10% less chances. I tried converting ore->ingot with 120 blacksmith on (without mining to test), it failed regular ore.

You need mining skill to smelt the various colored ores. They are referring to bonuses to salvaging smithed armor and weapons here.

This was asked on one of the 8 questions per week and the answer was that Gargoyles were to get a racial bonus for mining.
Not sure where on the priority list this is or if it is still on a list to be added

Wait a sec...Humans have racial bonuses? And here i thought Humans were extinct due to a lack of decent racial bonuses. Honestly, Humans are obsolete compared to Elves and Gargoyles for just about every role.
Elves make better Mages/Warriors due to +20 Mana/+5 Energy Resist Cap. They're also better Prospectors because the increased special resource harvesting greatly outweighs the +1 Log and occasional +1 Ore that Humans get.
Gargoyles make for better Warriors due to +5% HCI/Berserk. They also make for better Mages due to Flying (good for GDs and RCs) and +2 MR. They're also better Craftsman due to the Imbuing bonus they get.
The only thing Humans are better at than the other races, is gathering Leather. That's it.

Aye Winter; my pure mage started life as human, changed to elf when those came out, but last year went back to being human... For non-pvp general use, strongback, toughness, and jack of all trades I've found to be far more useful than that +20 mana and +5 energy.

Which got the hell nerfed out of it, both directly and indirectly. For most skills, just 20.0 points is worthless. It no longer applies for Special Move Cost Reduction. When Chiv was made to be more skill based, the 20.0 Chiv from JoAT became worthless (used to be able to occasionally get off a full power Con Wep, Close Wounds, Cleanse By Fire or Remove Curse with high Karma before).
It's semi-useful for being able to lore tamed pets, making your own Night Sight pots (assuming you don't have Nocturne Earrings or Unicorn Mane Woven Sandals) and being able to spam Hide and eventually succeeding (so long as you're not in combat). It's most useful function, is being able to occasionally get off a 30 or so damage absorb Attunement with a Lvl 6 Arcane Focus.

The only true advantage an elf has is nightsite... which I often forget about with Gargoyles.... and find myself in the dark. Otherwise the added Mana and 5 Energy are pretty lame compared to the human JOAT. Lets not forget all the other useful spells in spellweaving you can cast as a human and you can make a healing stone with Mysticism. Sometimes helpful.... Humans can cast a few nice mage spells as well... JOAT is still more powerful than anything an elf gets. If anything elves are the dying race.
