My unplayable bug of the day

So, log in a character and notice his hit points are at 12, which is odd, but I didn't think much on it until I noticed that it quickly went to zero. I panicked slightly as I didn't want to die, but it stopped at 0. Then as I walked, my stamina went down to 0 and did not regenerate.

I stripped the character, healed him- goes back down to 0.

Killed the character off, same thing.

Currently sitting at Luna bank, 0 hit points and stamina waiting on a GM. It's been about 30 minutes since I paged.

Bugs that make the game unplayable suck.

I wonder what happens if you die - will the stats reset? (OH - I see you tried that)

Have you tried Bless/Curse spells, remove curse?

What did you do differently that might have caused this bug?

I tried the spells... no effect.

This is the same character (oddly enough) that had the -25 DCI that a GM had to come and fix.

The only thing I've been doing with this character is logging him on in Luna and training Mysticism in the mornings as I eat breakfast. Occasionally I'll duel client my bard on with him for the extra mana regen.

Maybe the GM that fixed your -25 DCI caused it by accident somehow.

It's possible, I guess... But I haven't noticed anything until this morning.

Then again, I am usually more focused on my coffee.

GMs not as prompt as the last time I paged.... going to get more coffee... knowing my luck, one will show up while I am afk for 5 minutes.

This isn't a small bug whatever is causing it..I'm sure they are aware of what's causing it, unfortunately you are experiencing game breaking ones of negative stats..but there are many with positive stats that are bugged..I just hope they fix this soon..and the character with ( all 70's resist, 40lmc, 5faster casting) naked characters will also be reverted somehow as well..

I have been doing testing to figure it why it happens..have you done any of the following on that character.

-Used a advanced character token
-Used a mythic token
-Character Transferred
-Copied to test
-Used any kind of "macro" program that "crashed out" or timed out at server down or otherwise?

So far my theory is, that the stats are somehow being stacked on each other..example

When training resist..you have a character casting weaken, or even a spell binder..and what's happening at say a server down of lost connection..the stats are somehow stacking and tricking the server to thinking that's how it is..and it's saving that way..not technically through that example but in a round about way..blessing yourself and logging out and the server looping..I'm not quite sure how to explain it.


Anyone remember the divine fury bug?
-Cast divine fury till you were at -35dci and 10.0 ticks per second, log out log in..and the server would save it till next log in..something like that, but not as simple.

Everything you've mentioned so far(-25dci/-regens) sounds like the peacemaking mastery bug. Not sure if it was fixed yet.

None of the above.

I usually just sit here with my finger on the F4 key while drinking coffee/eating oatmeal.

While holding your finger on F4, what were you casting or doing? Anything ever on that character in the recent past that has altered any type of stats?

Side note: have you tried Alt+F4 while playing UO to fix all bugs? :teehee:

I honestly can't remember since it's been a few days since I've had him on to train, can't remember if I had my bard on that day or not...

Didn't realize there was a peacemaking bug.

There's a lot of bugs you can make happen accidentally or purposefully..fortunately for use there are only a few people who know how to..not sure how fortunate that is..but I guess a few taking advantage is better then the majority..."sometimes"

Lol! I've used that keyboard macro only in dire need..it's like the middle finger to UO..oh ya! You wanna kill me over and over Lady Mel..oh you wanna suck me to that platform Mr. Slasher of Veils? Take this!!! Alt+F4 :middle finger:

I've tried relogging and it doesn't fix the issue. Also, it is just the hit points. Mana and Stamina don't go down on their own. Stamina only goes down when I move. Mana regenerates fine after casting a spell.

You're welcome. Seems like its been around for a while now, not sure why it hasn't been fixed yet.

Have you tried having your bard buff him again? Maybe it'll cancel it out? Or maybe you'll get 2x-regens?

I've tried the regen again, and hit points will go up, like 1 point every 4-5 seconds.

Stamina and mana regenerate normally.

I had this bard bug hit me while training with Inspire/Invigorate. I kept casting Inspire and Invigorate - the stat loss went back to normal after several tries. Try recasting the spells you were using with your bard.

May be a little off the wall, but isnt what's described the affects of that lich spell of necromancers?

Yeah, it is similar to lich form.

Been casting and recasting, logging on and off, dying many times today... going on 4 hours of waiting on a bug which, in a normal situation, makes the character unplayable.
