Reforging for HLL 100% : what am I doing wrong ?

I am trying to reforge HLL 100% on a double axe, so I crafted it with normal weapons. It came out exceptional and with DI 36% which is standard.

Now, I went to a Soulforge (I actually went to the Queen's Soulforge for better chances ad good reforging...) with a 120.0 imbuer and a copper hammer fully charged with 100 charges, selected the copper hammer and targeted the double axe and selected Powerful Re-forging + Grand Artifice + Inspired Artifice + Choose name # 1 "Vampiric / of the Vampire" cost comes out 4 charges of the copper runic.

Well, I wasted 100 copper runic charges and got all junk. Unusable weapons because they added other properties which I do not need nor want like Troll Slayer, Mage weapon, Hit Fatigue or else.
I actually get this damn Hit Fatigue way too often and I see no use whatsoever for it so it just kills copper charges whenever it come out....

No property was 100%, just got one double axe with Hit mana leech 97% but it had also Hit Fatigue so it is no keeper.

I must be doing something wrong here because I read people getting HLL 100% with about 40 copper charges (1 runic hammer) and I wasted more than twice that all for nothing.
Copper runic are not that easy to get with Bods so, wasting all these charges all for nothing is quite disappointing.

So, what am I doing wrong ? Thank you very much.

Well, first, copper hammers are pretty easy to get BODs for, so don't worry about burning through them.

It's entirely possible that you just caught a lousy stretch in the RNG. I've never tried double axes, but I've made a bunch of broadswords. You just need to get lucky so that the hammer rolls both properties to be HLL - so then they'll add up to being >100, and settle at 100. The other day I was trying to make 100% HML weapons, and burned 2 hammers, got none usable, but got 3 100% HLL... Just keep plugging away, you'll get there.

How about choosing 2 names using EXALTED Artifice (CHOOSE NAME #1 plus CHOOSE NAME # 2) rather than only 1 using INSPIRED and choose for BOTH NAMES "Vampiric / of the Vampire" ?

Do I have this way better chances at rolling the HLL property at 100% because it may come up with BOTH name #1 AND name # 2 adding up to the wanted 100% ??

You can't choose the same name twice - maybe it can randomly roll it, but there is no way to consciously make a Vampiric Sword of the Vampire. It's all just random. There are literally 1000s of words of advice on this topic already written in various threads. If you're doing what they say to do, and I think you are, then you just need to ride out the RNG. Who knows, maybe the next hammer you try you'll get 3 of them at 100% HLL... Plus if you make accidental 100% HML ones, you ought to be able to sell them, even unimbued, for a few hundred K each.

Yes, it is all about RNG. I went through 10+ copper runic hammers trying to get HML 96% on a Leafblade and didn't get it. I got several HLL 96% though, which I am not sure what to do with. So far I've gotten around 10 HLL 96% and 2 or 3 HML 96%. It's funny how it works too. I tried several Kamas as well shooting for HLL 70% and what do you know... I got HML 70% on 2 of them in that 1 try... RNG gods like to play with me.

100 charges usually is not enough to get HLL. Usually you need to spend more charges. 200 charges per weapon looks more realistic. This means sometimes you need 500 charges sometimes you need 50 charges but at average you need about 200.

I burned 4 or 5 copper hammers yesterday before I got a 100 hll then I forgot to fort it up to 255 Nuts! Lol. 100 charges is only 2.5 hammers keep trying.

I'm interested in you saying the queen soul forge gives better reforge chances.. didn't realize it did, is this true?

Do you know a way to tell to to the soulforge what mod do you want to get? Why do you think it increase chances to get a mod you want, not for some other mod?

It would sure be great if that was possible... While they're at it, maybe the devs can let me tell an NPC exactly which BOD I want, and the questors in the tree city which runic tool I'd like.

Yes, the Queen's forge give's like a 5% bonus to success of imbuing. It's not a straight +5%, it's more like if the success rate is 20% inside your house, then it would be 21% at the Queen's forge. There is also a small bonus (at least there was at one point, if there still is or not... I haven't tested it since Beta) from the public soul forge in the Royal City. So, Queen's Forge > Public Forge > Soul Forge inside player's house.

That is for imbueing success chance, yes (and I believe the bonus is bigger than 5% from the Queen's forge, I think it is 20% and 10% at city forge). Reforging is a 100% success rate already, so I don't think standing at Queens Forge actually gives me any better chance to get the set of mods I want, given that the RNG doesn't know what I want anyway.

Probably not, but it would be cool if it did.

Instead of having people make something then enhance it later, I have thought it would be cool if using special materials at at special forge would apply some kind of benefit.
