Before everyone gets too distracted with the problems vendor search is having, I wanted to thank the devs for listening to recent posts about the names given to gift items. I think it was @Petra Fyde who suggested using city names (ala snowy scenes), rather than yet another set of something with dev names as the only difference.

Devs, the only thing I'd suggest would be that next time, as I suggested in that other thread, you use player city names for shard-specific rares. I know that the Chessie members of my accounts would love to have received an Easter Bunny raised in Pitmuck, for example. :D

Worst Idea ever!!! A player city is by far a rare to many of the paying customers. ( I could see a "blank" name your own gift as a rare) But not everyone cares to have a player run city named rare item....

How about commemorative items next time? They could resemble player run cities and towns of the past - like Valendor on Drachenfels. Maybe it will lure some of the old players back.

I like all these suggestions. And I still say I miss having my characters name on stuff.

One of the best things we've ever gotten was the arrows that allow us to put our name and someone elses name... And the cards we could give from us to a friend..... loved one. Were awesome.

Player run towns though ..... perhaps we could have some sort of way to get things from our banners? I would donate gold or whatever to my banner if I could have things with "Newcastle Township" on them. Would be a great gold sink...

interesting take here and it shows the opposite spectrum opinions of the player base. Residing on chessy I can tell you that the pit muck goblins are fully immersed in the RP aspect of the game play. To them a bunny raised in pitmuck village would be a treasured keepsake, one that would be displayed proudly in their residence.

your opinion is that of a purely monetary one, which please understand im not impugning at all, just pointing out the difference in objectives when playing this fine game.

Who are you kidding? Any RP goblins worth their merit would have that bunny turning on a spit, roasting over an open fire!

I'm sure it would be, but for those of us that don't play a role in that "player run city" it would be a useless throw away item.
so making it the "rare" gift would only benefit those in that player run city.

what is the point in making the gifts with a chance of a "rare" if the "rare" is only useful to a certain group of players?

I could see a chance of a rare "name your own bunny" as a good idea though.

I play Atlantic and with all due respect to "toad town" I think it's called????
If the shard-specific rare gift was a bunny raised in toad town, it would be useless to anyone not not affiliated with toad town.

player city names for shard-specific rares is not a good idea in my opinion.

!!! I would love a Pitmuck bunny or a Toadtown! I also thank the devs for all the nice things. *llama bows* How about option for name categories? Maybe a lot of work though.

Usefulness? Didn't know bunnies are all that useful ;-) It's just a bunny, not a Broadsword of Vanquishing. No offense meant. You don't want items named after player towns and I respect your opinion.

I personally am quite happy with items that don't say "Mesanna this" or "Kyronix that". We all got boxes full of candles and pumpkins and everything named after Mesanna. Maybe it's time for something new With all due respect I love this refreshing change to use town names instead. Some UO lore is highly appreciated (by me).

How about a rare Easter Rabbit raised by Exodus or Lady Melisande? Double click on the bunny and you get a evil looking rabbit for a short time. I'd pay to collect those!
I think you spelled my name wrong it is Lady Michelle not Lady Melisande good idea all Easter bunnies raised by me.
Seriously great idea

Yes, because the bunnies that have Blackthorns Castle or Luna are wayyyyyy more useful than ones with your shards player run cities on them... *rolls eyes*

OH - But, Lady Michelle... I'd never think evil of you.

Still, who could resist a bunny that looked like this when you double clicked it?
Oh, you found the one from Pitmuck! :p

Thanks for the cuteness of the bunnies; the city names idea, adding another collectible, the surprise when you get chocolate jellybeans...oops, you may not want this! haha.

But I wouldn't be me if I didn't have to complain.

I do wish the marshmallow ducks would turn us their color for 1 hour or maybe even a whole day? when we eat them.

Do always look for the next degree when adding a new gift.

I really would like future new gifts to come in parts/pieces that our 6-7 characters per account times X accounts have to collect AND then have combined by a crafter to see the end result.

Could these easter bunnies possibly be locked down in our house and be activated to hop up and down in place?

oo
