Question about lighthouses

As I understand it the lighthouse recalls your ship when it decays and puts it in the moving crate in the house it is linked to. My question is what if I by some unseen circumstance was to leave my ship at sea somewhere and some delightful soul decides to pulverize the boat with cannons and scuttle it while I am away, doesnt this make the ship "sink"? and if so would this be cause for the lighthouse to recall my ship back to my house? If so then I would feel more comfortable actually using my brittanian ship again because lets face it sometimes you dont have time to dry dock the boat and empty the cargo hold.

no one knows.
haha!

i have a boat out right now to test the 'decay' of the boat to go to the lighthouse.
unfortunately people keep clicking my boat and resetting the decay on it!
its been in the water since december 18th, so 3 months.

i recently moved it to more of a remote location hoping to get it to decay.
once it does and i get it back ill be more then happy to scuttle it and see what happens for ya.

or, if you want to finance the operation you could buy a new boat (toko or garg) and i could place it and we could go sink it with another boat to see what happens.

my thoughts are a decaying boat is different then a scuttled boat, and as such the scuttled boat sinks and is gone.

I'm fairly sure decay is different that scuttled. If it's scuttled it just won't move till you get repairs... It isn't necessarily "sunk", it is still physically there.

If it decays it's gone, either to your lighthouse location moving crate or poof gone.

To refresh a boat you have to either ck on the tillerman or the rope on the deck. If a boat is scuttled (blown to smitherines) it will not move but it still can be refreshed. I have refreshed a few boats that have been scuttled and they havent sunk. Its only when you gate off and on a boat and tell the tillerman what to do is when the danger starts of not being refreshed. I had a keep on test with 2 light houses on it. One for the owner and one for coowner. The boat did go into the packing crate for the owner but I never did find out if it would work for a coowner as they took the shard down a day or two before it would decay.

I do know they said if you pull the boat with the lighthouse any cargo goes poof. I didnt know a decayed ship linked to it would reapear in the moving crate. How many boats can be linked to a single lighthouse?

And does it work for "Classic" boats or only the new large ships? A couple of us were doing the experiments on test before they took them away too soon...

Thanks Voodoo You can only have one ship in the water. If you try to put another in it will say you have one in and wont be able to do it. Yes the cargo does go poof but you do get your boat back. It doesnt matter what kind of boat it is.

I want to be sure I have this right. You've used it on a classic dragon boat?

i have 4 lighthouses on 3 different accounts on 3 different shards so i have multiple tests going on at once.
