The loot isn't worth the effort, there is another thread here somewhere which came to the same conclusion also. I did it a few times but I had a disco healer keeping my samp alive, nothing good came of the effort.

Teamwork isn't the problem. Here's how the conversation goes in General Chat:
"Who wants to help me kill Fezzik the Cook? I need a healer and a bard to discord."
"Oo... that sounds interesting! What's a Fezzik?"
"Ya... I'ma bard, and I could help."
"Fezzik is a giant ogre lord with 30,000 hit points, but 3 of us can handle him."
"How long does it take to kill it?"
"About 20 minutes with 3 of us"
"Okay... Kool... what's the loot?"
"Ya... any special rares or drops?"
"Fezzik drops a moonstone jewelry!"
"Oh, that's neat! Is it rare?"
"Never heard of it. So, each of us gets a drop?"
"Ya, it's rare, like 1 in 1,000 kill gets a drop."
"Wait... one drop in a 1,000 kills? What's it do? What properties on the jewelry?"
"No properties. It's just a plain bracelet, ring or earring named Moonstone on it."
"So, in other words... nothing. Zilch on it?"
"How much gold drops... does it fill the room with gold like at champ spawns?"
"No, no... just 2,000 gold or so each kill"
"Okay dude... you're telling me that it takes 3 of us to kill it in 20 minutes, and you get 2,000 gold and a 1 in 1,000 chance to get a rare jewelry that does nothing?"
"Okay... yeah, when you put it that way..."
"So, it would take over 300 hours with 3 people to get the drop? Or about 1,000 hours for all 3 of us to get one?"

i went out with a guild mate a while back and we killed a bunch of them for some reason.
i just woke up, it will come to me.....
but we took in 2 tamers, 1 mage tamer and one disco tamer.
then had a pure bard as back up.
we dropped him in minutes.
the 2 dragons ate him up and the bard kept the hell hounds busy and any mage that came to play.
also kept the acid things playing with each other.
we would pull him into that hallway between his room and the teleporter.
just cant remember what.

He is soloable..did it with a Provo/peacer tamer..all I have to say is! Screw that guy! Took an hour or so..got nothing but like 1500-3000 gold and negative 800 or so bandies and less durable armor..awesome addition to the game IMO

kinda makes sense too, the cook in game would drop the new recipe.

fezzik in 1 min and half .... put in HD .... 2 total players +2 bards on multi client
no but ive gotten nice loot i think ive done like 750 fezzik so far...

I go a stealth tamer, which is works fine. Leave your dragon up top at the entrance of the dungeon, and stealth down to the room that he is in. Log in and out to get your dragon. If there are mages in the room, have your dragon take them out first. The best thing to do is get him in the upper left hand corner of the west room, because the mages in the other rooms don't auto agro on you since you are far enough away. You will need to have plenty of bandies & a lot of mana reg. If you don't use an area spell, the gooey maggots won't attack you. It can take awhile by yourself, so I often have my bf bring his Mystic/SW Mage and use RCs & WOD at the end. When there is two of us, we can take it down in about 4 mins.
I know this is a rare occurrence, but we got a moonstone ring after the 26th attempt. (Took a total of 5 or 6 days, a few rounds a day) We've tried probably 2 dozen times since then and nothing, but I'd like a whole set eventually

Definitely a recipe that's hard to come by. I would have thought someone would be farming them by now for resale. Some of us have more than one chef, so there would probably be a market for them.
I wonder what the daemon bone armor drop rate is, sounds comparable (except now you can kill efreets in like two-three spells)
Yes Kojak my little bald love, players would buy them. I'd go for one for my little lady chef...
As long as they can afford them, I'd bet on it. In fact, I have an extra chef who is feeling positively deprived at the moment, and even a wee bit jealous of her employee.

Ok I went through over 6 shards at Luna square... I found some great sales and even some that were so outlandish I was laughing all the way around the ring...But no 3 tier cake recipy. Ok point me to the sale for them...... My cook Clouds Dancing is bugging the hell out of my crafter Longfellow for one... I dont want to hear the other cooks of mine clammor for one as well....... Id be afraid to eat a dinner if I dont get her one.

Just another case of a "boss" type monster in UO that doesn't have the rewards to justify the time spent to kill it. UO seems plagued with that.
Moonstone jewlery was cool when it was a really hard to get drop from killing Gypsies. It wasn't amazing, but you could easily farm the gypsies in hopes of getting it. It took alot of time, but not much effort. Now they are on a boss type mob, that for most either takes a group or alot of time. They just aren't good enough for that much effort. But like I said, that is a problem A LOT of boss encounters in UO face.

It takes 20 mins solo. Before start lure out Mages and other from near room to the teleporter.
Then go in Stone Skin, Protection, cast RC, and do as tank -stand, Heal yourself, and cast smth on Ogre.
Just ignore Magoots.
At the end of Ogre HP lock him in the room with Energy Field or he will Run away.
