monitors if you turn the brightness up you should be able to see in your pack.Old monitors I know that it won't work on some. try it see if you haven't yet.

We should not only be championing for lighter background colours for the backpack in the CC, but also that the CC is given a gridded backpack so the CC users can experiment the joy of not having to hunt things (earrings, rings and other tiny things) down inside their backpacks. We EC users don't have to suffer with it any more, and I don't see why CC users should.

I think I've said this before. But I love pretty much everything about the EC apart from graphics. I just can't adapt to them so I stick with CC. I just really detest the graphics. I would love to see more EC functionality in CC but I doubt it'd happen sadly. A CC graphics option in EC would also be amazing, but again, never gonna happen.

So sadly I'm stuck with the CC limitations I guess

If you want an instant dress macro or quickly change weapons - use the EC.

You might try changing your gamma setting in your graphics card settings page..
I don't play the CC much anymore but other games that seem too dark this helps.. drawback is it'll make everything brighter not just the backpack..

Really? It has the 2d graphics? I'll take a look later. But I'm pretty sure last time I tried it it wasn't. Character and mob graphics look so weird. World graphics I never had issue with. But mobs and characters.. pretty important to like their look

I've never been one to try to push my choice of clients on anyone.. But I do have to say that Yes the EC looked a little weird when I first switched.. I play a very old school style of playing so the old school graphics were part of the game for me.
But like anything if you stick with it it starts to look "more normal"..
I'd never go back now.. trying to sort through packs? Uugh. Not having scalable gumps? Sorry my old eyes need that now. lol!
And don't get me started on Custom Hotbars and the complex macros you can make.

And I use Pincos so a lot of things I was able to make look old school.. like my packs.. they look just like a CC pack but they have a grid and are sizable.. nice being able to shrink it down when I'm not using it and grow it real big with my mouse wheel when I want to get something from it.

LOL... it really sounds simple, but as soon as you do, someone will complain it's too light... not light enough... they want pink!

There is one itsy bitsy drawback to turning up the bright or contrast of your monitor....
(Use to service these ..so i do know the skinny)
It takes a few months but your monitor will begin to do a burn in.. and shortly there after parts of the screen will fail.
They are not meant to be run at that higher end forever..
Ajustments are there for a reason yes, but not meant to be perma in use for long periods unless the machine is on its last legs and its all that is keeping it from the recycler bin.
Ladys and Gentilmen the need is real and telling someone to go use something they do not want is not nice.
Its rude.
I can not use the EC.. period. its not that I dont like it even thought I did try for a few weeks.
Plain speaking I dont in reality like the EC.
It's one of a physical reaction my head gives me for its use.
Massive migraine is just a small part of the eye strain it gives me.

I am not the only one whit this trouble, and its been discussed many times here on the forums.
It cant kill the Dev to lighten the interrior of our pouches..

Well, I am all for keeping the CC, but I think some of the nifty and useful little things that the EC have should be ported to it.
I am pretty sure every CC user would love an option to have a gridded backpack (no more hunting those blasted blessed earrings of protection in the backpack or the ring when you die!) or the auto dress macros in their classic client.

I won't go back to it, but I am all for making it better for the people who love it.

I little blue diamond should be added to our packs. We click on it and the mega dye tub colors come up for us to pick what color we want the inside our packs.

Also allow us to dye the outside of our backpacks on our paperdolls. We had this ability on test sosaria back in 2004 or so. It was awesome.

I disagree with re-huing the inside of everyone's packs, some of us like it the way it is. But do give those who want it the option to change it.

Any dye within the game should be used for the backpack on the paperdoll, not so sure about the interior.

Also on test sosaria in 2004-2005 someone had an ethereal universal dye tub, we had ethereal deer at Britain bank

Some ethereal dyed cloth and cloth garments caused some of us to client, the game simply closed up and would not reopen until the ethereal garment decayed or was otherwise removed from the screen. Of course I was using a Pentium 2 computer with Windows 98 at the time.

We never knew why ethereal bolts of cloth, gilded dresses and some hats caused us to client and be unable to log back in.

Having cut ethereal cloth inside your open backpack allowed you to see right through to the ground in the area the cloth covered.

So inside backpacks may have special issues with being colored.

A Slave Girl I talked to Grim on this very thing months ago. He informed me it was a very small ajustment to lighten the interior of our pouches. I had pointed out to him in the thread I saw a posting of a pouch from a "copy " shard of its interior. He afirmed the post and said that it could be done and he would put it on his to do list... days later EA gave our beloved Grim his walking papers and all hopes of this went with him. I didnt agree with EA on his release...

I was a KR then EC hater. Just standing near the void or swamp gave me a headache. The grid pack was a must for bad eyes. Got used to the new macro hotkey system and the looks. Now logging on CC makes me crosseyed to the points of spike in skull.

Hotbars, macro system even a new player can figure out without needing a 3rd party to get the same effect.

How many EC attributes need to be added CC before we call it UO again.

I find the Bob and Bill is enough to hear them. If they are really dear and near me then they show up as a guild member or ally color. Temp closeness is party color. And for all that fill chat with BS speak I have a healthy ignore list. What I miss most with colored words is my dyed runes retaining color while in my runebook.

Also would add. CC is not made for wide flat screens just as much as EC is no made for anything less then 22 inches. I fixed my pack from looking to dark by tilting my screen up.

It's ok Hunny Bunny. Sugar isn't good for anyone....

When the KR came in for testing I gave it a good weeks worth trial... full 7 days.
Back then I played alot of hours in game....
I kept getting massive headaches at night... I thought ok migraines di this with the eyes...np
By the 7th day..... my head was in agony... every time I logged in UO.
This was before I had my stroke..
Suffice it to say KR was banned from the computers in my house.

When EC tested I did the same thing...
I did the same 7 day bit...
This time the outcome was worse..
Not just the head was in pain but my whole body reacted...
NOT nice..
I talked to my neurologist and explained exactly what was up and was it the program, the new monitor, something with just me... ?
With my stroke.. The brain is making new pathways as I try to do what I use to do before it happened.
With changing graphics and the type of visual the game was giving was triggering multi systems and throwing me off balance.
Hence the sick feeling and headache.
The graphics to me look out of phase.. everything has a shadow.. or looks like I am looking a a picture that is way fuzzy.
EC is out.
The Dr. said this will happpen to a % of people who see it.
Most will get use to it, while some wont or cant process the immage.

I need the pouches a bit lighter on the inside .. not dyed or painted just a few shades of leather lighter.
Grim said it is a very simple thing to do.
All I am asking UO Dev is to do it.
Please with a dollop of honey on it.

The box from the bare EC isn't gonna make many fans..
This is the way it looks with Pincos and the bright background..
The CC shouldn't look much different if they changed the hue.. and well you have to imagine the grid and scrolling gone.

I agree it's not pretty.. but it's functional as hell.. being able to search your pack with your mouse wheel and grab what you want quickly makes up for the "grid" look.. least for me.

Plus if you mouse over the leather part you can mouse wheel it down to itty bitty and zoom it back out as needed.

If you're having trouble seeing things in the backpack, you might try using Windows' Magnifier tool. You can find it and other tools for making things on your computer screen easier to see by going to the Control Panel and then selecting the "Ease of Access Center."

I sympathize totally with ya sweety.. It's a known fact some people react badly to some graphics.. even seizures have been reported due to certain frame rates.. It's not your fault it's just a byproduct of the natural way your eyes and visual cortex work..
