Development Cycle?

I was looking through a few posts and could not find anything on a development cycle. Has there been anything posted by the devs about things to come other than a few bits listed in Mesanna's letter. Other than counselors being reintroduced and a tantalizing query regarding Pncos UI, what is coming up?

Just look for a new publish every 3-4 months so 3-4 pubs a year.

There's a lot going on! The dust is starting to settle around our transition to Broadsword, but we are still working out some kinks. We are tightening up some final bugs related to vendor search and preparing some spring time gifts for release in March. We are working towards a prototype release of what we've been calling Virtue/Vice. We've taken all the feedback from various sources related to the concept into consideration for the first iteration you guys will get to play. Some highlights include a definite role for thieves, an easy-in-fast-paced battle experience, as well as consideration for how we will handle teams and what role stat loss will play based on early feedback. We've taken the first steps in the long process of how we are going to revitalize the new & returning player experience along with unifying our core quest system and having a good look at global loot. Onifrk is hard at work on our high res art process to make that a reality. Broadswordians are also hastily working behind the scenes with our websites to bring MyUO back as well as streamlining the account management process. Mesanna is continuing her search for the Assistant Producer to serve our Japanese community and getting blue robes back in Britannia and making sure our team has the resources to continue to grow UO!

Like I said, lots going on! Very exciting times!

As much as I'm excited, I mostly see lots of room for new bugged and bloated systems above. Vendor search, Virtue/Vice, MyUO, ...

I much more hoped for the daily crap getting fixed. There is this refinement thread active right now (Y U NO stackable!!!?). Talking about some new thieve role: Ever fixed that heavy crap spawning in the NPC chests which meant to be used by thieves to steal from?

EC has so many open bugs. Targeting cycles through tons of old targets from like 3 hours ago, etc. pp.

Dupe detection on vendors was also not quite what many of expected it to be. Not sure if that will EVER get sorted.

Maybe, just maybe, Devs could fix some things that ARE already screwed up. I'm sure i will love this Virtue/Vice thing when standing in the middle of a spawn cycling through 20 targets not even on screen. Only way I would not love it is when it is more bugged then the other tings I'm using.

Thank god we all know bugged systems never make it past TC1, and if they do so, they will get fixed asap in 2050. Whatever.

Well... since Factions is probably the most screwed up system out there, I am glad they are tacking it. That should knock a chuck off the bug-list in itself.

It's so great to hear this stuff and I get more and more happy for Broadsword.
I feel MyUO will bring back a lot old players and a lot new ones too. It have been very hard, not be able to see who was in the guilds. As leader of Newborn on Siege, NEW2, I know how hard it is for new players to find a guild and how hard it is for me keep track of my members and their skills to see what they need.
I'm so happy and look forward to see my loved game wake up again :)
Thanks

Yes, I'm going to update the thread later today in the governors forum.
Hopefully you have queried the Event Moderators, who must put up with our **** on a regular basis, as well as relied upon disgruntled players.

Is this advice too obvious to say? Perhaps, but if you're anything like me, it can be all-too-easy to miss the obvious in a river of vitriolic and sometimes conflicting qualitative data.

Looking a little closer to your info here :)

I really look forward to to Vendor seach. I would love if we could have the teleport to the vendor on Siege too, just with a little delay so it can't be used a a way to escape in PvP. Yes I know, people could end up in a trap, but it's Siege, so people should know that risk or learn.
Spring time gifts, I love gifts. Next year, I would love to have a daffodil or crocus bulbs/seed I could grow to plants, that would give a few new bulbs/seed, that only will grow in Marts/April or maybe bulbs/seed on monsters in Marts next year, that only will give new bulbs/seed in Marts/April.

I really look forward to see this new system. I really hope, the whole guild don't have to join. A guild often both have peaceful players and more PvP active players. If the PvP'ers in the guild could join like a kind of gardians in the guild. Let them fight anywhere including town and dungeons. The peaceful part of the guild should not risk to be attacked in lower level of dungeons and NPC towns but would not be safe in and around player towns = overland without heavy spawn. That could bring back some of the old fights at player towns. So if a guild are let say choose Virtue, the members have to personly join Virtue to PvP vs Vice everywhere. The more peaceful ones will be safe for enemies in NPC towns and lower dungeons.

Some highlights include a definite role for thieves, an easy-in-fast-paced battle experience, as well as consideration for how we will handle teams and what role stat loss will play based on early feedback.
I hope the stat loss is only temperery like the factions stat loss. I really would like to see any kind of stat loss disablet on Siege Perilous as it really don't belong on Siege. Look forward to see what you have for the thieves.

We've taken the first steps in the long process of how we are going to revitalize the new & returning player experience along with unifying our core quest system and having a good look at global loot.
Anything that can help new and returning players make it here is welcome. We sure need new young blood in UO before the game end up as a old age home together with the players.
I hope global loot include the overland spawn and loot. If we go a few years back, new players was hanging out around NPC and Player towns doing their first training and crafters did not have to go to dungeons to stock their vendors. There need to be some items on overlands spawn that will unraw to relic and essences. Also increase basis resist on items, so we can get rid of the pain with making 5x70 resist suits. It would make lower level loot more useful for new players and armor crafted of non colored matriale would have better resist. increase basis resist to 20% and Exceptionel bonus to 20%, then let armslore give 10%, then a non colored gm suit will have avg 5x60 resist with armslore, a suit with colored matrial could easy be 5x70 without need for imbuing. That would make it less painful to make imbued suits. On Siege our crafters get burned out very fast and it's very hard to find vendors selling good suits. When a player can't find a new suit after dead, he is less minded to risk PvP. I know it's different on normal shards.

Onifrk is hard at work on our high res art process to make that a reality. Broadswordians are also hastily working behind the scenes with our websites to bring MyUO back as well as streamlining the account management process.
I look forward to see MyUO back, special on Siege, we miss it badly, when we can't see who are on the shard. I believe MyUO would help rebuild Siege as it make the shard look alive, when you can find a char and she who he is in guild with. Sinse MyUO died, alot small guilds died too and we ended up with a few large guild. In the past we was lots of guilds.

Mesanna is continuing her search for the Assistant Producer to serve our Japanese community and getting blue robes back in Britannia and making sure our team has the resources to continue to grow UO!
We look forward to see UO grow:thumbsup:
