WOW is getting housing & skills to build things to fill the houses. Not sure it will be the same way as Uo tho.

Its not housing, and its nothing like UO housing.

Think more along the lines of RTS style building. Game in a game.
EverQuest is getting housing... and housing that is very much superior to UO I'm sad to say... not sure what the rest of the game will be but right now from sounds of things has the potential to really be a contender.

Houses keep players inthe game i think and well storage is issues in most games...
I don't think we need more storage, we need a changes to storage. I have 2 castles and it's a pain to find items in them. I would like a way to get a list of everything stored in my home and to move all piles of lets say iron ingots to one chest and all xmas trees, that is not locked down to one chest or special gift box

I can`t believe people play WOW with those jacked up graphics. Crappiest char models I have ever seen. Baffles me why that game is still going.

.Becuz it has a very solid and stable client, modern communication tools, thousands of add-ons, regular events and things to do which have been consistently present, tons of people playing... you know, everything UO struggles with which is why it doesn't even have a fraction of the playerbase WoW does.I can`t believe people play WOW with those jacked up graphics. Hey dont you go picking on my Gnome Rogue I happen to like my Courtnay just the way she is thank you... hehe Wow is a different world then UO. Ther has been talk of storage and houseing, some has come about but house ... idk... i know they are adding special storage for trinkets from the years play so it dont eat up storage in banks... but I didint hear about any house.... But to be honest... they still have over 8 million players... I'd settle for 1/3 as much here in UO... hehe...
I took a break after christmas so didnt hear about the garrisons I think i need to look into it as i am about to reup my sub for it again.
Yet it is still fugly as hell.

Yes, the polygon count may be low and the textures may be small, especially for original and eariler addon content. Neverheless, the art and the design in WoW is awesome.
I wonder what you would put in a Wow house tho? Theres hardly any deco. I think that games too old to change now, but if houses, deco, rares had been a part of the game maybe 6 years ago i Might have kept my account open. I think the only thing lasting in Wow when i was playing was pets, and mounts. I think i have about 50ish pets in wow, some rare mounts, a motorcycle.

In WoW's Garrison feature, its pretty much like a small town. It starts small, and you can gradually build it up, with buildings you can pick that give bonses to say a certain profession. You then can recruit NPCs out in the world to join your Garrison and you can send them on little adventures of their own. After a certain amount of time, they come back and bring you loot. The buildings you pick for your garrison can affect for instance, how long it takes them to do their quest, how long it takes them to recharge, among other things.
So garrisons are basically a minigame/crafting boost.
Oh, and to the people complaining about the graphics, lets not forget the next expansion includes model revamps for all the races.

pretty cool feature. so i can have a bunch of npcs that bring me loot? awesome. i like loot. are they strong? do the fight? what if they die while out of the garrison? i could see myself going back to wow but dont looking forward to having to level and do quests. done enough of that. maybe a code or promotion will be offered tho to buy top level.
Actually, when you buy the next expansion, you get 1 free boost to Level 90. The only leveling you would have to do is the new content 90-100.
And the NPCs are basically a minigame. You can see them hanging out in your garrison, but you don't actually fight with them. You can design a party, like a tank ect, and certain NPCs have certain strengths.

Housing doesn't keep a player in the game. I have said this a millions time. It's content and constant updates to games that keeps players interested. You can have the best housing a MMO can offer but if the content is lacking they wont be logging in to much to just move and re-deco a house.
