Afraid to Transfer

I have some things I've been waiting a while to transfer to Atlantic.
Have the issues been fixed? Is it safe?
I am considering waiting until the weekend.
I saw on uo.com that Atlantic had been "worked on" and is back up, can anyone confirm the problems are fixed? I don't want to get lost in transfer limbo!

Here's what I can say:
I think they fixed the problems, UO has said they've attended to them so you have their word. There was severe lag accompanying the first few crashes (which I presume was associated with the crash). I experienced no lag today or yesterday so I can only assume that whatever causing the crashes has stopped.

but ya, im in the same boat.
ive been wanting to do a 6 shard jump to finish up some projects ive had on the go.
then i thought about jump #3 which is to ATL and i thought.... maybe ill hold off for another week.

my hubby jumped from Chessy to Formosa a couple of nights ago, he loaded up his bb, his bag, a pack horse or 3.....and he transfered. after he arrived on formosa "about an hr later, due to us getting distracted by the tv" he started to unpack his things.....he was missing a whole crate from his backpack. i almost saw a grown man cry...it had some kinda uber garg thrower suit in it and was worth over 800 mill.........i made him check 3 times to make sure he wasnt over looking it. i did the only thing i knew to do, i logged in on chessy. i ran to the yew abby. when i got to the inn i could see the crate on the ground. it had dropped out of his pack somehow upon transfer.....thank God! no one uses the abby any more. all items were still right where they got dropped at..........so my advice if anyone does x fer right now have a friend or spouse watch your char when you hit the x fer token. make sure nothing drops. my hubby got super lucky, but now he used an xfer to move his thrower and he dont have any gear LOL....oh well could be worse i reckon.

Thanks for this! So from now on, transfers are best done in an isolated logout location, just in case.

LOL, I tried researching a good portion of items available for a gargoyle and there is just no damn way I could get close to a 800 mill suit!

because thats what this post is about........let me correct myself , since nit picking trolls like to get off topic......when you add up all the crap that it took to make the pieces...including the reforging tool thingy from the website, the breast plate of the berserker, the conj trinket, the weps, the ethy bora "for his mystic" what ever that robe is he wears, the glasses, and all that other crap in that crate it was around 800mill worth of items sitting on the floor in the bank........jesus ! i forgot why i stopped posting on stratics........next time something like that happens i wont bother to inform anyone.....nit pickin asses

I'm wondering if those items showed up on the log at all, reason being that another person might not think to check the jump-off point and when putting in bug report would have no recourse if they didn't appear on the transfer log

Shrugs, usually I have enough common sense to transfer from the safety of my house or someone I trust so I don't worry about this type of BS. Things being left behind from transfers have been an issue for quite some time (years?) now and most likely had jack to do with the ATL crashes. Maybe next time, do your research about past transfer issues.

As far as this thread goes, I've done 3 transfers (1 to atl, 1 off atl to pac, and 1 off pac to baja) since the DEV team did the fix and I have not had any issues as of yet.

I rarely transfer and have just two in my files from December, but I'm pretty sure it saves all of them - what I did notice, tho, is that the list is now much shorter than it used to be.... previously each item was listed with an ID number, and now I have just this:

Contents: 59/125 items, 328/400 stones

Item ###### - Your Bank Box
Contents: 50/125 items, 57/400 stones

Item ##### - pouch
Weight: 44 stones
Contents: 43/125 items, 43/400 stones

Item ####### - Despicable Quiver
Weight: 8 stones
archery +5

Item ###### - Your Worn Equipment
Weight: 10 stones
Contents: 3/125 items, 6/400 stones

Item ####### - Your Backpack
Weight: 6 stones
Contents: 3/125 items, 3/400 stones


so, I don't know if the individual items are held in their files or not, but you should be able to tell by item count whether your left behind things are listed on the transfer?

don't know that all this helps anyone, like I said, just a curious sort (each of those items up there had individual numbers, took them out cause I don't know about those things, seemed safer that way)


oooops, forgot.... to find the file Program Files > Electronic Arts > Ultima Online Classic and then look for 'translog' - and you won't find this file in the enhanced client

Do you always have a friendly house when transferring back to a main shard? Have you never gone to another shard where you don't have a house and don't know anyone, purely for a shopping trip?

I haven't done a "real" transfer in quite a while, just some character copies. But you're right, the translog file isn't maintaining many details anymore, is it? Sometime between April and June of last year, it became pretty useless for seeing what you actually moved. Oh well.

in response to the unvendorable bug, I contacted Mesanna and she was able to fix my issues. She thinks she may know what the problem is and told me it is something that will be worked on but in the meantime you are to contact her to check the items out and possibly "clean" them. Dupers beware! She can tell if it is duped, so dont bother.
