(RP) YEW AT WAR !!!

In the light of recent events,

I, Tehan, Governor of the City of Yew, hereby decree the installation of war measures.

All able citizens are to prepare themselves for combat, and be ready to be deployed. THIS IS NOT A DRILL.

A curfew is now in effect, from dusk till dawn, until further notice.

Make stocks of food, fresh water and bandages, for a few weeks worth.

Stable your cattles and pets.

Do not circulate alone in the City, unless escorted or duely authorized.

Engage any orc found within the city limits with EXTREME PREJUDICE.

YEW -- WILL NOT -- FALL.

Let me begin by delivering my most sincere apologies to all those present at the Paxlair meeting last night, that were caught in this violent attack, and that had to defend themselves.

To those who were not present yesterday at the weekly Paxlair meeting, here some recap of the events:

The meeting was held at the Empath Abbey, and started at 9pm as usual. During the reports of the city Governors, at around 9:30pm, the orcs have launched a full scale attack on the City of Yew. Their expeditionnary forces counted HUNDREDS of them, including ettins and orc brutes, mages, archers and infantry. Their ranks covered every inch of snow up to the Yew Moongate !!

We were severly outmanned and unprepared, but thanks to the skills and determination of the defenders, we prevailed.

There were not there to take prisonners this time. They were there to kill and invade. In their retreat, they left a book, in which you can clearly see their intent was to seize possession of the buildings. That book can still be found on the table inside the Abbey, where we held the meeting.

I have warned the King several times about the threat the orcs posed, and insisted on the urgency to deploy the city guards to the towers on our southern border. I had to fend myself off several skirmishes in the last few days, and houses have also been burned down to the ground near the mountains. We now have the proof of their true intentions now. INVASION.

As of now, all regular scheduled activities in Yew are suspended, including the Yew Settlers event that was in preparation. All our energy will now be diverted to defending the city, and preparing a counter attack.

I plan to lead a retaliation party into their forts and caves, tentatively on Wednesday Feb. 26th, at 9pm. The plan is to ERADICATE the orc presence in the Yew vincinity, or at the very least, buy us some time by thining their ranks, while we wait for the city guards to be deployed.

The city will not fall under my watch.
