Seeing that artwork like this is indeed possible, and among other pictures from this server, I am left scratching my head as to why this is not on a prodo server.
Time and money is why ea went backwards. Perhaps Broadsword has more to invest..........
Cause for years, most of the money earned by UO was taken by EA and spent on other projects (And the fat cars of shareholders), instead of on improving the game that was bringing in that money in the first place.
Looks like that's changing now, with Mesanna's sudden interest in Pinco's work.

Do you really think, UO's profit is that high, that it is spent on other projects? We can feel lucky and thankful, that the servers haven't been shut down already.
Kudos to pinco's work. It's awesome, what he did. But judging by his icon art, he's a better LUA modder than an gfx-artist.Looks like that's changing now, with Mesanna's sudden interest in Pinco's work.
I really like the border, but after that...I don't know. There's nothing wrong with the original UO graphics in terms of 2D tiles, it's just that post T2A tilesets and artwork do not match the original artwork tiles...all of these artists trying to match the style and failing. Not saying it's easy, but those incongruities make me cringe more so than the lack of third-party customization. That being said, one has to wonder how hard it would really be to be able to skin gumps (profile hue changes, at the least).

Yeah, I find a lot of the work those peeps did to be really nice, and kind of depressing, since UO hasn't been making art that fits the game for like over half a decade. Of course some of the art on that shard also looks terrible and out of place, but a LOT of it fits in just prefect, they also just seem to be a bit more adventuresome in their world building. Also a big fan of how they handle water.
There was a thread where you had some paperdolls which were awesome too.
