Make the game free too play, and a lot of old school people would come back. Leave the origin prices as is, add more items to the origin store for purchasing.

Also a Uo Renaissance era server would be a big hit for old players that are on all these free servers. Make it free 2 play + add that server I guarantee the population doubles within 6 months a year.

I'll even advertise on all the free servers to get people to come back to help I am sure others would let all there old buddies know to.

I don't know, SoulWeaver. I seriously can't imagine $10 a month is the main reason more people aren't playing UO. I submit that free vs. not free is a non-issue if we're discussing ways to recruit more players. I'm not saying making UO free to play wouldn't attract some new players initially - although I would attribute the influx to advertising the new "free to play" rather than it being free. But if they don't like they game (or the company that runs the game), they're not going to stay anyway, so we're back to where we started. If people are playing on free shards, it's not because those shards are free but because of some other factor that's keeping the players there (i.e., hatred of corporate gaming, gripes with UO management, the joy of being a rebel, whatever). So, no, I don't see any longterm gain by making UO free to play.

Almost all these proposals have been brought up many times, and refused many times, do we really have re-hash them again?
Mesanna and her team said NO to shard mergers - Mesanna and her team are still the ones developing the game.
Mesanna and her team said NO to free to play (and most of us can't afford 'free' to play, it costs a whole lot more in most games that we currently pay in subs) Anyone who doubts this, check out the cost of buying a house in SotA.
