Specific slayers vs super slayer

My crafter has finally gotten to a point where he has begun to be able to make decent equipment.

My question is with regard to everyone's opinion on the subject line.

For example, Unbound Energy Vortexes. Do I collect the vials of vitriol elsewhere and make an elemental super slayer weapon (and have that weapon be potentially viable throughout shame) or do I make an air elemental slayer for the additional damage?

Eventually I would like to have a collection of weapons for each type of slayer and super slayer so that I can just pick whatever I needed and go out, but my shortage of resources (both time to play and the actual special resources :)) doesn't allow for that at the moment!

Right now I am leaning toward the specific slayer (air elemental in the case of UEV) and collecting vitriol whilst destroying them :)

As more experienced warriors than I, What are your thoughts and opinions?

Thanks!
Crazy

I think this is mostly a matter of preference and how the monsters stack up.

If you're in an area where the monsters are related, but not identical, then the super slayer is probably best because it lets you get the slayer damage against all nearby, and makes Whirlwinds useful when multi targeted.

If you're somewhere that the mobs are of a single type, then you ought to be good with a specific slayer, then you needn't worry about Eo0 etc.

I personally went with just an Elemental slayer for Shame purposes, since there's quite a bit of mix.

When I go to Destard (which is often) I use a Dragon Slayer, because I don't need Eo0, which makes life simpler in there, and all the things in there are Dragons, even though some are called other things, technically.

Interestingly enough, I tend to find the Super Slayers easier to come by the ingredient for, because white pearls seem to be scarcer/more costly/more difficult to get (I don't fish) then, say lava serpent crust, vitriol, spider carapace, undead flesh, etc.

If you have chivalry lesser slayer doesn't increase your damage. It just allow you don't use EOO.
There are three types of weapon (AI, DS, WW) and 6 craft-able super slayers. Add here special weapons for some bosses like Lady Meli, Travesty, ... You probably will need over 20 weapons even without lesser slayers. Where to find so much free hotkeys? :)

Well, if free hotkeys is your problem... I have a 24 button mouse, so once you factor in that I have a G1 - G12, and then can program the 3rd mouse button to be ctrl, alt whatever, I think I'm covered for hotkeys. :) That said, I still prefer fewer things to keep track of/less moving parts in combat than more.

As im using chivalry i only need super slayers (except one broadsword which is dragon slayer because normal slayers have lesser imbueing weight).

Weapons i use are broadswords and doubleaxes, so i carry 12 slayer weapons plus 2 normal ones. Using the enhanced client no problem switching to the one i need.

It isnt that difficult to craft em unless you are using my template where you need 100 hll on every weapon

Thanks everyone, I will go with the super slayer option since my warrior runs chivalry!

Actually, for UEVs, go with air elemental slayer.
You won't have to worry about keeping EoO up nor worry if honour is maxed.

Pinco UI. Auto select slayer for the win. I just click on the target press my home key and it automatically picks the correct slayer.
I don't like the idea. It potentially leads to problems. There are situations when I don't want to use proper slayer.

And what to do when you have accidentally lured Blood Elemental?
Switch to you standard elemental slayer and not take double damage from the blood elemental because you wouldn't need to have EoO up.

If you already have elemental slayer there is very little sense to waste time/resources for crafting air slayer.

I have found it to be quite valuable since I have a higher ping.
With an air slayer, I don't have to worry about missing honour or missing the good point to recast EoO, both of which would cause me to leech less mana and HP during a part of the fight, which can end up being fatal.

Honoring is important for its luck bonus. Farming uevs max luck is always useful.

The only benefit regarding air elemental slayer would be a bit less imbueing weight on the item. Never used it though cuz uevs are all too easy. Super slayer is enough imo
