Revamping Warrior Characters - Armor

Ok, I've been playing UO very sporadic the past couple of years. I have a good grasp on imbuing. Not so much on reforging and even less and then newer refinishing or whatever it is called. I'm also ready to weed out some of my junk from my houses. So I've decided to toss this out to the mass of experts here on Stratics. I'd like to limit this post to armor. Oh, this is for PVM, not PVP. But not opposed to hearing PVP info either. But do not include faction gear in your responses. So what armor pieces do you use and why? And for arties and whatnot, which pieces are at least keepable for some use and why you think so. Here is what I recall off the top of my head:

Head: Mace and Shield Glasses (or variants), maybe Hunters Headdress for archers
Neck: Jackal's Collar, Gladiator's Collar (which I don't have)
Hands: Stormgrip, Gauntlets of Nobility, Inquisitor (which I don't have)
Chest: Heart of the Lion (probably a joke now), Rune Beetle Carapace
Legs: Tinker legs (which I don't have)
Arms: Crafted arms is all I can think of
Cloak: Ranger Cloak, Quiver, Cloak of Rejuvenation
Robe: Conjurer's Garb (or variants)

Is the Assassin suit even viable any more? I have that on one of my archers. Thanks in advance for all of your insights. I'm looking forward to seeing your views. I know this is a broad topic. I have several types of warriors. Have never played a samipire although I have a char who could be used that way. I have both stealth archers and ABC archers. My main warrior is bushido paladin without necro.

Right after posting, I noticed Corwin's sticky that includes "Equipment Advice". I guess I'm looking for insights over and beyond that. I'm reading it right now. Thanks.

Reforge armour is what I have been doing, need an imbuer or a player that can make it for you. This gives you the flexiabilty to create some pretty nice armour
and weapons. The cost will vary depending on the material that you need to get the results that you would like. But for me it's been the way to go as far as maxing out my warrior with skills,resists, and stats etc. Perhaps check the crafters forum on the topic of imbuing/reforging. GL and welcome back.

Thanks Riply. Believe it or not (couldn't resist), I started checking the crafter forum after posting this. I have a crafter/artificer and know I will have to delve into those areas to complete my suits.

Thanks Corwin. After reading your numerous posts, I know you know what you are talking about. It is a little sad that so few artifact items are not worthy to use.

Conjurers garb is good too.


Other arties you might consider : crimson cincture / tangle. Talisman slither or mana phasing orbs, maybe conjurers trinket

Thanks Duncan. Wasn't too concerned about the belt slot or talismans. But those are certainly worthwhile arties.

Hehe, the lack of concern was not due to underestimating them. I'm just pretty well set in what I use in those slots. Unlike other portions of my suits, I think I'm good with the belt and talisman slots. I'd love to get a Slither to give me another option but that won't be happening any time soon.
