I visited Skara Brae a few months ago. The real one is definitely [Skarah Bray], and a most beautiful place it is too.

Funny. At a meet-up in Seattle in 2000 (or was it 2001) we asked Runesabre (a dev) how Ocllo was pronounced. He said
Ock-key-yo
giving the double L the same sound it would have in Mexico. Note that Origin Systems was in Austin Texas.

Skara Brae: Skarah - bray
Ter Mur: Ter (as in Terra) - Mur (as in Murder)
Trinsic: like 'Intrisic' without the 'In'

Pronunciating names of UO citys and towns is like reginal wines... they vary in suttle ways and tastes.
I have talked to many ans have giggled my tail off as i hear different ways people say the names... to each his or her own and one more thing...
I cant help sing the UO version when UO Assist pops up...with "Do you know the way to Skara Brea"

Entertaining thread. There really shouldn't be much debate on how to pronounce this one, since covetous is part of a group of dungeons that are named after normal English words for vices (covetous, wrong, shame, despise). Of course English is not the native language for many UO players.

"...thou shalt not co-veet your neighbour's wife..."

No...definitively not...smearing hair removing gel over each other is NOT what you should be doing with you neighbour's wife...

tsk tsk...

The million dollar question is how people pronounce "cu sidhe"
It's pretty easy as pointed out way back in the thread. It's [Koo Shee]. A fairy dog, usually green or black but in UO all manner of garish colours.
