Dont forget to visit Drachenfels at an auction-day (e.g. this Friday): www.knuckleheads.dk. We may be small, but very very active... Luna is not the best indicator for Drach´s activity, as the German players usually don´t pay that much attention on Luna (compared to others shards, for example).
i dont base population on Luna... there are several factors i take into account.....but when theres castle spots free to place i can only assume the population is not that great!......we will see..only had a week and theres so much other things to do this time of year...

Something to add to your report for Balhae: I have both types of portals at my house on Balhae that is just east of the Zento moongate. The house is public and I have vendors up as well to sell a variety of crafted items, but have been holding up putting anything on them (other than some repair deeds) until the vendor search feature is activated. Also, there are a few shops around on Balhae selling useful items, you just need to know where to look for them. I've noticed a few more vendors in Luna selling power scrolls of late. There's also Amber's gift shop on the road between Vesper and Minoc and there's also Medusa House 4 (NE of Minoc) selling crafted stuff and a nice variety of talismans. Also, if you want to run into the Korean players on Balhae, the best time to do so is probably around 2-6 am Eastern Time,

Thanks Tina ...and thanks for the input....Hey nobody's sayng there are no shops on balhae....theres bound to be a few out in the middle of nowere that i havent seen...iam only doing a breif tour of each shard... trying to do all 27 shards in a year!!!..kinda a task/project i set for myself......iam talking to folks, etc, finding a rune libary and portal so i can move around freely....looking at the shards housing and getting a feel of how populated they are.....but when luna is half grass and the shops that are there sell hardly nothing it doesnt bode well...i would love to list every active shop but that wouldnt be practical.......maybe someone should take that on as there project!!
Alas UO is UO ....i visit shards and some people are helpfull some are damn right ignorant...so i gather the info i can in the time i allocate on that shard.

You might want to add a note that Izumo is like Origin. Both Origin and Izumo get the new publishes before the other shards do to help ferret out bugs/problems. As a result, I think some people may be leery of playing there for fear they may lose stuff or lose progress training characters if there needs to be a revert . Some people also don't like to play on those shards because they are periodically off-limits for shard transfers while they are being used to test a new publish.

-(Roleplaying Alliance of several guilds) holds auctions on Sundays from time to time. Kahlan (2013 Pac Rares Fest Host) is the person that runs the auctions. She used to post on the Pacific forum here when there would be an auction; but now I believe she only posts on UOForums.
-PAH (Pacific Auction House) used to hold auctions every Sunday for years but they haven't been around in over a year now. DJ Sandman stated that it is one of his priorities/goals to get the auctions up and running again.
-New Mag vendors will pick up again once the vendor search goes live. With vendor search websites that really only show Luna, no real point to having a vendor/mall placed elsewhere at the moment.
-EM events are on a pretty regular basis. (ill leave it up to you to rate the EMs and events) Some of us like our previous EM's events/coordination a lot more than the present EM... might also be a language barrier with him.
-Slight decrease in population from 3 or 4 years ago. Used to be great for PVP/Yew gate and such, but many have moved on.

We did have an auction house that sold every 2 weeks. Just most of that crew are no longer around.

Thanks for the report. I can't agree, that it is hardcore PvP'ers and hardcore crafters who play Siege. We don't really have many hardcore PvP'ers or many hardcore crafters. We do have alot who is somewhere between, maybe have a vendor or two, maybe do some PvM and try to PvP if attacked. We have fishermen, treasure hunters, roleplayers, everything works on Siege.
A crafters don't die much on Siege, a PvM'er may die more often, but there are alot places to go, where you rarely see a PK.
An other thing, that make Siege different, red or blue don't mean much, guild tag and actions do. I had been able to invite the whole shard to NEW2 graduations party in my Castle. My Castle are public and doors open. Did it end as a blood bath, not really, a few times I had to clean the floor after a red decided to grats the Young Siege players with a welcome kill, but it was only meant as that and the event could go on.
At the event was several guilds present and enemies was sitting side by side. I had done this several times and will do it again, when we have more than a few new members who make it a month.
I doubt you find a stronger community on any other shard. Lets see the effect of the upcomming global loot update, it may bring back the life to Siege. Vendor seach is a great add, and do help vendors at desert places. I had a well known red thief knock on my door, I was on Tina Tink, and decided to open the door and invite him with the words, "I take the chance to let you in". He told vendor seach did bring him to my place and then asked to buy some powder for cannons, he could see on painting at my wall.
An other time, a red I did not know, called me in chat, asked for imbuing help. I asked where to meet, he told me, he was waiting in my Castle
Fear stop alot from playing Siege, fear can be very hard to control. Dying and get looted is not the end of the world, just be sure you can replace what you are running around with.
