So... my greater dragon and I were walking around skara brae on atlantic on the way to the bank, had his health bar pulled up...and he spontaneously fell over dead... nothing attacked him, he was at full health. I've never had this happen before and it was quite odd. anyone else experience something like this?

did you happen to notice any hobbits nearby? hehe

(you might not have noticed them if they were using rings of invisibility from the days of yore)

The last odd thing I encountered with a GDrag was I was fighting a guildie in town and there was some kind of trigger which caused my dragon to get guardwhacked despite guild filter. That was just after they came out. Wasn't bonded at that point so I lost a decent dragon. We couldnt figure out what happened...there were potions being used etc....we just couldnt figure it out :p

It's probably because the pet was fighting for longer than 2 minutes, without refreshing the flag (tamer saying 'all kill or guard'), It's like when you pvm something that lives long enough, your pet's bar/name will turn blue, and saying 'All kill/guard' will make the pets name green again if you're in a guild.

This happens in pvp, and results in tamers becoming the aggressor, which in turn can A) get the tamer guard-whacked. or B) the tamer is able to be reported for murder if the other player is killed.
If you flag someone as a tamer, and they turn blue before you have your pet attack them, you're pet makes you the aggressor.

It can be hard keeping a tamer blue if you pvp with one, unless you flag with your pet first and refresh your flag often.

Definitely could have been the 2 minute thing, but it was peculiar. I think maybe my friend hit an attack nearest or the like macro or something, because I had told my gdrag to stop and we weren't fighting, then he was using macros to drink pots and out of nowhere my gdrag got gwhacked. Like, we weren't even fighting at that point. I don't know. I mean, I'm familiar with the way flags work and all, just seemed strange at the time.

Ahh, was this around when the Healing = Looting rights change was tweaked, and targeting was messed up with it? Maybe the heal pot caused the dragon to reflag while blue.

Healing tamed pets no longer causes you to become an aggressor to mobs/players attacking the pet.

I haven't had that happen, but I know that recently my pets seem to get hung up on players, NPCs and other things, then no matter where I move and call them from, they just stand there spazzing until I tell them to stop and wait until they move a tile. It's REALLY irritating.

Hard to know for sure now, it was awhile ago. Gosh. February 14, 2008. Going on six years since G Drags were introduced. SA (late 2009) didn't really give us anything useful outside of Bouras, either. It's been a long time since tamers got anything new, I guess. Hmm.

Guess I'll hold out for that cat ethy...:/.

I knew of a bug about tamers not so long ago if you had not logged in for a time the minute you did you had a few short seconds to cast cure and heal before you dided mysteriously... and I did have my pet do the same... good thing it was bonded.
Your pet was guard wacked or just fell over dead?
