Help with EC

i want to give the ec a try.

First major problem i have run into is its very choppy. Like running around luna, houses / vendors arent automatically on the screen, they only appear when i get very close to them.

anyone help me with fixing this? im zoomed in so my character looks the size he does in CC.

Check your cache..... the more you run around the more things will load and be there for you.....

Secondly turn off shadows and junk like that which will slow you down... also if you are running Pinco's... you can up the refresh for nearby NPC's... Should be in your options.

Fool around with the zoom. There are zoom settings that cause the same problem for me. I have zoom on my mouse wheel, and when I start having issues, I zoom in or out till I find a setting that works.

Do you have a fairly new gaming PC? I couldn't run EC on my old PC - too sluggish to mess with - and had to wait until I got a new one until I switched. EC needs a lot more processing power than CC. Seems the farther you are zoomed out in crowded places like Luna, the more processing power required to keep refreshing the screen.

I have a gaming PC from about 3 years ago (very good at the time). wow ran on it perfectly with most the settings up, so i assumed it should be fine. just wondering what in-game settings i should adjust to make the EC playable.

Lowering the FPS is what made the biggest difference on my machine (which is five years old).

under legacy options you can select to have the paper doll be cc or ec

Pincos is the only way EC becomes playable for me. ICQ me later and I can walk you through the options within it to make it easier aka smoother (bout 6-7 checks and unchecks withing options)
Don't be discouraged though, the EC is still leaky... Diablo 3, Hawken, Battlefield etc is smooth as silk for me... EC is smooth to a point, but still '2000s smooth' if that makes any sense...
With that, I use EC 90% of the time now, the options within have made CC unplayable for me...
I have gotten old and lazy

P.S. if Pincos ever stops updating, I am doomed... Anyone who uses it and hasn't donated should slap themselves...

I agree with you about Pinco's if it dies I'm done... I could NEVER go back to the CC and without an awesome UI like Pinco's I'd be done.

I tried downloading Pincos a few months ago but gave up after a few hours. then it took me over an hour just to get pincos out of my computer. i might try it again sometime but am not looking forward to it.

Sure is mate. Well at least when using Pinco there is the option for fonts etc.

thanks all, looks like i might have to give pincos another go. i just so frustrated last time. installed it and uninstalled it about 3 times before giving up. i even reinstalled the EC client to try to figure out where to save the pincos folders to. it was a mess. maybe ill try again.

From memory I just downloaded the .zip file from the Pinco website, then extract it into the EC folder. Then run the patcher.

It can take a while to go through all the settings and get it setup as you like but stick with it mate.

Here is my layout below. I like having all the chat windows separate so I can keep track of stuff easily. Then I have mobiles down the left side for easy target selection.

That does look awesome. I just have such an issue with the avatars... ARG! Can someone make a UI for legacy avatars please!!!
