Was cleaning up the last bits before droppig one of my keeps and i dropped a 1000 seed lump on my bug who imediatly gobbled them up like skittles!! and poof i was 1000 coco seeds lighter. I dont remeber ever seeing them gobble up seeds........ I am not game to drop them on packies now ether...... is the a bug or did I miss a change?

No idea but you can put the seeds in commuinty deeds now
you try and turn it with the house tool then try unlocking it
Packies eat them too...found that out a couple years back...
I'd highly recommend packing up any and all locked down luck sculptures before customizing. In this case, a keep, hopefully you can just turn it with a house tool. They're quite buggy.
I just tried dropping a variety of seeds (including cocoa tree seeds, some other peculiar seeds, and normal plant seeds) on the blue beetle belonging to one of my tailors and the beetle didn't eat any of them. All the seeds I slid onto the beetle's back went into its backpack. Went to the stable and pulled out a pack horse and, as expected, it was delighted to eat any seeds that I tried to slide into its backpack.
Which shard were you on? Could this have been a change that only affected non-Japanese shards? I tried this on Yamato.

I was on Napa... and just tried it again and my bug ate the seed...
Are you sure it's not a pack horse wearing a Beetle costume?
yup.... its a old bug i have had on napa for years I am glad to hear you can deed the seeds the stacks of coco , thorn , and orange petal seeds are getting way heavy!
I didnt mind that the little bugger ate them... it just lowered my load to move but it did bring up questions about it as i have dropped seeds on my bug before and didnt have trouble with it being gobbled up. and as packie pet food its nice to know if i run out of apples or other fruit a over abundant seed stack can feed their tummy. Wonder if the puppys eat them ?

I just tamed a new blue beetle on Napa, killed some wisps to get peculiar and fragrant seeds (i.e., cocoa tree seeds), and then tried to feed them to the new blue beetle. The seeds just dropped in his backpack. He didn't eat them at all.
Whenever I am going to load up items that I know or suspect might be part of a pack animal or blue beetle's diet, I just use the critter's context menu to open its backpack and set the item inside. There's no chance of it getting eaten that way.

I have had my packies eat my seeds, but I don't remember if I have ever had a blue beetle eat them. But I am sure it is the same bug.
beetles will eat rubble plants too. i lost a few rubble grasses before i realized what was happening.
good to know.....geesh they turning into garbage pails on legs
