Alternate ways to move in UO? (instead of mouse)

I know you can move with mouse.. and move up and down, left and right with keypad.. but is there other ways you can program buttons to move? Is there a way to move an an angel without mouse?

I'm not sure if this is what you're asking for, however I can move my character north or south, east or west, northwest or southeast using the right button on my laptop's touchpad. I have to make sure the cursor (pointing finger) in the game window is pointing in the direction I want my character to move first and it's kind of awkward, but it's definitely doable. As long as I hold down the right button and there's nothing to run into, my character just keeps going.

It also looks like there is a way to set up a macro in UO (i.e., NOT in UO Assist) to Walk in a specific direction. Direction choices are NW (top), N (top right), NE (right), E (bottom right), SE (bottom), S (bottom left), SW (left), W (top left). Experimenting with it a little bit shows that each time you use the macro and your character can actually move, your character moves one tile. If you just hold down the keys in the macro continuously, you keep moving unless your character gets stuck against something.

Was wondering about this myself recently as I just broke my mousing arm last night..... flying off my steps. Winter is dangerous.

Huh?

Well, for better or worse, you can make a UO macro using the Walk function. You'll need to something twice, like two lines of NW, to move in that particular direction. If you do a line of each direction you can make a seamless animation of your character spinning in a circle, which might also gain you some Focus skill, lol. I had to delete an old spin macro on Europa recently as I was x-trading ;D.

That won't help if you need to move house decoration items, though...:/

There is a motion bar, like what the xbox and Nintendo use that you can get for your computer that you can use hand movements for. It's just a little bar that you set down by your keyboard. I would speculate you could use that just like a mouse to move your character, except of course you'd just be moving your fingers around in t he air.

If you are using a "standard" keyboard with a number pad, you can use that to move all 8 directions.

If you don't have a number pad, you can use the corresponding cursor keys and home/end/pgup/pgdn keys.

Code:
+------+------+-------+
| ⇖ | ⇑ | ⇗ |
| 7 | 8 | 9 |
| Home | Up | PgUp |
+------+------+-------+
| ⇐ | | ⇒ |
| 4 | 5 | 6 |
| Left | | Right |
+------+------+-------+
| ⇙ | ⇓ | ⇘ |
| 1 | 2 | 3 |
| End | Down | PgDn |
+-----+------+--------+
If you have assigned macros to the number pad, you can still use it to move by holding ctrl/alt/shift (as long as that combo isn't also assigned to a macro).

Finally, if you can't use your mouse arm, you can turn on the MouseKey function under Windows's Accesibility options.

I activate mouse key when gardening too, to save the amount of double clicks I have to do.

I've always wanted to try the Air Mouse, but not sure it would work for UO.

Leap Motion would be a lot nicer, lol!

Then again, I guess Leap Motion might not work for all applications. Interesting review here:

So.. by... using the mouse?

Yeah using the mouse is very difficult and painful since I broke my wrist basically. Can't really grip anything at all. Making my life heck..... Now I have a mandatory 2 weeks off work but can't enjoy UO...... :(
