How long to get in the action?

Hey all, I played for a while years ago but starting all new now, and wnat to know how long it would take for me to start pvming and eventually pvping? Is it going o take a week or so to get high enough to pve and or pvp? And what build do you guys recommend? HOw are dexer fighters as opposed to str fighters?

My guild often recruits new/returning players, and it seems that it takes them about 1-2 weeks to become competitive in PVM, and a month or so to finish their first characters skills. and 2-3 months to become pvp'ers. (on the Atlantic shard, each shard will be different) dexer fighters hit for smaller amounts of damage but hit quickly, str fighters hit hard, but slower than their dexer counterparts.

took me about 3 evenings to train up skills of last basic thrower. this of course wasnt by actually playing the game but using a wolf spider, and just doing things over and over again. 120 throwing anatomy tactics. 80healing. 85chiv. 110 weapon skill is good enough for starter pvm. youll need to get to 120 for pvp tho. a helpful guild is a great way to get started. youll need some gold. a guild that hunts things that drop decent items that sell is a great help.

Which shard are you intending to play? In the long run, you will want max dex on your fighter to attack at the fastest speed. STR is definitely a plus too. Just enough intelligence to give you mana for your specials and spells -- bushido and chiv are good.

I didnt see that you wrote this thread, too :x. mystic mage should be good for both pvm and pvp so good choice ;D
