The Felucca map (available on all servers), or the Siege Perilous server (which has the mostly open PvP rules set of the Felucca map on EVERY map), or between members of a guild, or members of an alliance of guilds, or between guilds who are at war, or in a dueling situation in one of a small number of arenas.

basiclly u go to felucca............. find another player in felucca
u then fight depending if u win or lose
u then have to bad mouth on ''general chat''
if ...[u lost] how u were cheated..or how u were ganked 4 on 1 ...plus lots of insults etc etc
or ...[if u won] ..again u bad mouth how crap the player was at pvp and stick to trammy plus many insults etc etc...

Sadly because of comments like the ones above and the devs desire to stop PvP via screwing with factions and making the lag so bad by going to the cloud, PvP is basically dead.
The same reason people selling stuff don't use the trade channel... no one uses anything but general chat. I'd almost rather read pvpers pancake at each other than people spam all night long that they are selling a slither
One of the best ways to learn the ins/outs of PvP on your shard is to get in touch with a guild that PvPs on your shard. They will be able to help you get set up, teach you common tactics (potions, trap boxes, etc...), and give you opportunity to practice.
Simply going to a Felucca ruleset will be very discouraging, as you will be highly unprepared for the encounter.
You may want to try getting in touch with a guild by using the shard specific forums here on stratics. There are plenty of guilds out there with good people to help you out. Your PvP experiences will be highly influenced by the company you keep.

What shard do you play on? I know lots of PvP guilds on different shards.
yeah uo pvp isnt like alot of other games where you just "kill the other team"
if you just go in and start attacking whoever randomly youl make alot of enemies fast, plus solo pvp these days is very hard. find a decent guild, or even someone to duel with in arena.

Also BEFORE any fight spam in gen chat how you are superiour to everyone and have never died to anyone, EVER!
When someone finally bites and asks for a duel drag the CAPS LOCKED discussion on for at least 45 minutes until both parties resort to "nice dodge". Keep on going until the other one hasnt replied in 30mins.
From experience thats how PvP works now.

Watch some of Mervyn or Midians videos from Europa, if you want to see an example of poor pvp.
If you want to actually be good, don't copy these morons
