If you have UOassist you open one client with that, then for the second client you open the client.exe. If not using UOassist just open client.exe twice. It will pop of with a not supported window for the second one, just hit ok.

I run two accounts by having one open in CC and one open in EC. From doing this I know one reason why sometimes it appears that somebody is moving more quickly than expected as the EC character almost seems to frame skip in CC.

I find that I have to open the CC first or I will get the two instances error message.

You can simply open two instances of the UO Client. I know this works for the Classic Client. I have not tried it in the Enhanced Client.
  1. Start UO normally
  2. Wait for the login screen to appear
  3. Go back to your desktop and start UO again
  4. Click the ok button on the "two client feature not supported warning"
  5. Login to each account separately

Thank you.

I didnt realise it was that simple.
I have tried the UOA and client.exe method.
Worked as a charm.

I thought I needed to do some fixing in client.
Everytime I got the two client warning I closed it because I thought it didnt work.

No, the warning is just 'it's not supported' so they are not guaranteeing it'll work.... without the ability to use more than one client at at time I''d be sunk trying to run the events I do :)

I run 9 clients when planting green thorns gets real laggy after 5 but eases the pain of the thorn timer.

I use the EC and I can run up to 4 or 5 of them at a time and have them all running pinco's UI which is nice but yeah my rig balks at more than 4... 5 brings me to a snails crawl but I can do it. I've done it a few times in RP situations but makes it hard to remember who's who and I hate accidentally talking on the wrong one.

Yeah more than 3 is is not practical for anything that requires more activety than chat or a couple of clicks. Very handy though to have a rez toon tucked away close to where a fighting toon is working harder mobs especially if you play a low pop shard.

Basically the warning translates to 'if you screw your pc up trying to do this, don't blame us'. :D
As far as my experience goes it wont screw the PC up but will on occasion crash one or more of the open clients.

I forget, but I haven been loading my second account with the UOPatch.exe now because I thought if you load just the UO.exe you won't see certain art and stuff? Isn't that the case? Like they show as unused tiles if you load up from just the UO.exe.

That is the case if there has been a patch and you are not running the current version. You will be fine between patches when your client is fully upto date

I frequently have all my accounts logged in (5) with no noticeable decrease in performance, think it depends on what pc you got :)

As for the EC+CC error.. UOA pick up EC as an UO client, although it don't support it, so yes if you using UOA on classic gotta launch Classic first in that case.. ;)

I've seen up to 28 accounts being run at same time, (they were using 2 computers, but still quite impressive) the more powerful your computer is, the more accounts you can run, simple as that.

Thanks. I had found that last night when trying to quickly fill a focus. I hit the client icon instead of UOA and no error. So I was here tp ost to that effect. :)

I've "only" got 5 accounts, so never tried more :)
