Going to give this another try. Hopefully I got the poll responses worded so you can pick the ones that work for you! (Ignore the double choice for "my shard needs more stocked commodity brokers." I meant to make it say something else but it doesn't matter now.)

Feel free to add any comments you have about the broker stalls, aka "the encampment system."

Edited to add: Thought of something else to say here. I'm pretty sure you don't need to have your account updated with either theme pack in order to be able to purchase from the stalls. I think you just have to have either theme pack added to your account in order to be able to set up a stall of either type. It's been a while since I've tested this, though, so I might be wrong. And I should have checked the last response option for myself, since I've definitely made purchases from the broker stalls on Siege! However, I really meant it more as a question for people who have red characters to see whether or not they would use those characters to patronize stalls in Fel Magincia as an alternative to switching to a blue character to go get their red character's supplies and then transfer the items or pets to the red character. I just couldn't jam that thought into the limited space allowed for poll responses.

Tell me what you wanted the duplicate option to say and I will attempt to edit it for you.

My answers: I'm not sure if it's realised but while the whole account controls any stall you set up and you can't have multiple stalls, you can have one on each facet. On Europa I have 2 pet stalls, one in Fel and one in Tram, selling non-tamer pets. The fel one was set up specifically for red characters to be able to purchase. It's also handy for passing pets between my own characters on the same account, put them on the stall with one char and take them off with the other.
It's not going to make my fortune, but it does what I set it up to do, it provides a service for people who can't tame their own pets and want something other than a horse from the stablemaster. I stock it daily, since it manages to sell pets daily.
Recently I've added some 'newbie tamer' pets - frenzied ostard and bake kitsune.

I'm afraid I can't remember now, Petra. Had not had coffee yet at that point.

Didn't know that. Nice tip!

The options provided regarding stalls are only for stocked or empty... there should be an option for former stall owners to check abandoned.

On my shard, the vast majority of the stalls are for pets, and almost all are empty. There are very few commodity brokers, and last time I checked, only one was well stocked.

I think the stall system for New Magincia needs revisiting and a significant amount of tweaking before even thinking about using the system in other cities.

My Reply (with quote) button is not working.

Tina Small: "I'm pretty sure you don't need to have your account updated with either theme pack in order to be able to purchase from the stalls."

You can purchase and sell items to the commodity vendors without upgrading your account. The account upgrade is only needed to operate a stall. I do not have my accounts upgraded and regularly use the stalls.

In hopes of perhaps helping some enterprising players seize an opportunity, here are some additional questions:

For the people who selected the options saying their shard could use more stocked commodity and/or pet broker stalls: Which shard(s) need them? Should the commodity broker stalls be set up to buy or to sell deedable resources, and which resources should be bought or sold? For pet broker stalls, which kinds of pets do you think would be in demand? And how much would you be willing to pay for various types of useful n0-taming-skill-required pets (e.g., fire beetles, blue beetles, swamp dragons, ostards)? And what would you pay for decent but not necessarily "uber" taming-skill-required pets (e.g., nightmares, greater dragons, fire steeds, etc.)?

If you indicated you would buy from a commodity broker or pet broker in Fel Magincia (presumably with a red character that can't travel outside of Fel), what are you interested in buying and on which shard(s)?

If you currently run a commodity broker stall or a pet broker stall, it would be great if you would be willing to post in this thread what you currently charge for the things you sell through your stall or what you currently pay for resources someone wants to sell to your broker. (If you want to do this, it would be extra-helpful if you could specify in particular if your stall is on Siege or Mugen, as pricing might be a bit different on those shards versus other shards.) And if you have any good tips you might want to share on how to manage your stall so it doesn't become a real drag and you actually make enough profit to make it worth your time, that would be just awesome! (Maybe ideas like putting runes for your stall on one of the vendors at your house, or making sure the guild on your shard that is most likely to take in newcomers/returnees knows that your stall buys resources like leather, ingots, imbuing ingredients, etc.)

My price list (bearing in mind I'm trying to pitch it at new and returning players and am sometimes the victim of re-sellers) is as follows:
Ostards (both types), rideable llama and ridgeback 600gp
Ruddy boura 1,000gp
Lowland Boura 1,500gp
Frenzied Ostard 2,o00gp
Giant Beetle 2,500gp
Swamp Dragon 3,000gp
Lesser Hiryu 10,000gp
Bake Kitsune 15,000gp
Fire Beetle 20,000gp

Some people will consider these unacceptably low, but as I've said before, my stall is intended to provide a service, not to make me gp rich.

I have occasionally sold goats (for fishing and halloween) at 200gp and barded swamp dragons (Fel only) at 15,000 wearing GM iron barding. I only once stocked a wolf spider, which I sold at 30k, but I consider it too much hassle trying to get them out of Underworld alive. If I come across a wild pack animal I will tame it and put it on the stall at 400gp.

Thanks, Petra! I'm trying to set up a form on Google for people who are interested in doing so to type in what they would sell a certain type of resource for to other players and what they would pay to buy it from another player. It will probably take me a while to get it set up as there are so, so many resources that are stackable and deedable these days. However, I think people might be interested in seeing the results. If I'm doing it right, what should happen is people will see a list of resources and a place to enter a buy price and a sell price and then I think I'll be able to provide a link so you can also see a summary of all the responses that have been provided for each item, buy and sell prices on a separate line for each. Maybe seeing what people are willing to pay as either a buyer or a seller will help motivate more people to set up stalls. I know they are a very valuable feature on Siege and it makes me really sad to see how disused they are on other shards.

Edited to add: I'm thinking I might do this as one form for imbuing ingredients, another form for tailoring ingredients, another for blacksmithing ingredients, etc. Trying to put it in just one form will make it too long. Plus maybe this way I can get one form posted and people can try it out and I can tweak the others before they're finished if the form just doesn't work.

There's a couple of stalls near my petstall, run by either a guild or someone with more than one account. One stall buys and the other stall sells resources. I'd be happy to show them to you if you're interested.

Thanks, Petra. I've got a stall going on Siege to buy a few types of resources and I hit up Sprago's stall every time I need to buy relic fragments. LOL

I have a form set up on Google to put in the prices you would charge if someone wanted to buy imbuing ingredients from your commodity broker stall and the amounts you would pay if someone wanted to sell imbuing ingredients to your stall.

You can get to the form here: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/12phYMfUl7cISM4oL60IJjl9cbfFSHs0MmUzuatHWiAM/viewform . Fill in whichever prices you want to and then click on the "Submit" button at the bottom to add your responses. The next screen you see should tell you that your responses were submitted and provide a link for you to see all the previous responses.

The responses will also be dumped into a spreadsheet that you can view here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Aj2lpjetLFwwdFNqRkNBVXp0ZjJIVW5DUzlxaVNCd2c&usp=sharing . I think responses added to the form will automatically feed over to the spreadsheet as they're added, with each set of responses getting its own line and showing a timestamp in the first cell on the line.

Okay...let's see if that format is usable or not. If it's not too glitchy or cumbersome, I'll set up some other forms for collecting buy/sell prices for other types of stackable/deedable resources that you can put on the bazaar vendors.
