troubleshooting an EC problem

If they dropped the EC or the CC I would still play. I would just use whatever client is left. Easy.

It annoys me when people say this. Lets take a 16 year vet for example. They would cancel accounts just because their client of choice is dropped? Wow, that really would be throwing toys out of the pram.

Drop the CC and watch this 16 yr vet drop all his accounts. I have been using the EC in grid mode backpacks while redoing all my collections for the spacing ability but it is very hard to look at this for a long time. Sorry the eye strain from fuzzy graphics is more than this old man can take, not to mention what they did to the looks of all my pets. Give me the crisp clean graphics of CC any day.

That sounds to me like you just haven't set the correct zoom level. When you do your find the scenery etc looks pretty much exactly the same!

I can normally see more also when using the EC but im on laptop at the moment and my resolution is only 1366 x 768.

I guess it boils down to personal preference though much like everything!

Yeah sure. Also I should add you can configure the "optimal" zoom level using Pincos profile editor for those who want to get the EC looking crisp.

As for the backpack zoom levels you need to use the "scale mod" found in the options menu.

I'm sure you can also tweak the zoom even if you just run the standard EC with no mods. It just means editing a file in notepad.

Sorry but if this old man can see the difference than maybe you should go see an eye doctor. And yes I see one every yr so it is not my problem. Fuzzy noncrisp lines dull colors

Heh. The sprites (objects like crates, pumpkins, etc) are 1:1 identical. What you mean by "crisp" is actually "pixelated". In this screenshot the floor tiles and characters are higher resolution making them less grainy/pixelated. They are also displayed using a variety of textures making them look more natural, whereas the CC tiles are one simple low-res texture repeatedly copied across the screen.

My personal preference are these "copied" tiles of straight lines and textural consistency, rather than a "natural" look of washed-out colors and, what would be in real life, poorly laid concrete.

Nothing wrong with personal preference. Not sure if you would like your real-life flooring to look like a texture though.

I dont like how graphics in the EC bleed thru. Foe example the pictures in this thread. The upper left corner a Gargoyle foot is showing thru the tent, Same area the classic client does not show thru. This is through out the game in the EC, I also dont like when you are on the second floor and it shows the floor above you. The edges of the graphics are a bit fuzzy in the EC and takes awhile to adjust to.
