its was a massacre!

i wouldnt have believed it if i didnt see it with my own 2 eyes!

this greater dragon went from the dragon maze, all around, opened doors and went into the hell hound room where he found a unattended dragon farming hell hounds, killed it!
i know, right, i couldnt believe my own eyes either!
killed it, his poor master was no where to be seen.
THEN, the marauding greater dragon walked all the way over, opened up MORE doors and went to the gold elemental room AND KILLED AGAIN!
yet another greater dragon all alone, no master anywhere to be seen.... to loving bandaids to cure him or heal him *sad cry*

then, if you can believe it, the Greater Dragon who now has the taste of blood, OUR BLOOD, walked all the way back over to the Dragon Maze land and went back to his normal patrols!

like i said, i wouldnt have believed it had i not been there watching the entire time.... laughing hysterically!

if you see that greater dragon DO NOT APPROACH HIM!
he's a killer!

i saw him do this on Lake Austin and on Orgin last night.
unreal scary.
to think, it could have been ME he wanted to kill.

im just happy he was full after all the cannibalistic purging.

One of the original concepts for UO that RG and RK keep talking about is how players were supposed to police each other. Now, granted, that applied to PK'ing. But, if the GMs, Devs and everyone else in power is going to sit back and do nothing to the obvious AFK farming. Then it is up to the players to do so.

I'm going to add a word of caution here.
First - luring is NOT a legal tactic
Second - not everyone in that darn dungeon is AFK!
Do NOT just wade in there and take a greater dragon to visit someone who's legitimately working the dungeon.

Speak to people - and wait for an answer, if the poor soul you've targetted is up to his ears in mages and balrons, brigands and rotters, dragons and drakes, he's not going to have fingers free to type 'hello' and still be able to hit his macros to stay alive.

I sat in the gold ele room in tram for 2 days solid with my dragon, while i was invised the entire time. I spent best part of 16 hours there and had 3 GM turn up telling me what a nice pet i had, what colour would you call it. Just to see if i was AFK farming. I wasn't AFK, and was able to respond each time.

I then went to fel to work the same spawn in the same room for a further 16 hours, invised the entire time. Not a single person paged on me while i was doing it in Fel.

Just because i dont want to come out of hiding and talk to you dose not mean i am AFK. If you were to lure the GD down while i was working the room you can bet I would allow you to do it, then report you for it.

In fel at least you can hunt them down and exact a toll on them, doing it on tram side there is no sporting chance to play with the hiding tamer.

I had a greater dragon chase me into the mage room on Siege. I was lucky to get away. The Cu down there insta killing all the NPC mages was not lucky enough to escape. I looked around for the tamer to see if I could assist...

oppps, i was just trying to take the greater dragon out for a walk on Sonoma..... to be frank he looked a little fat after all that eating of peoples prized dragons.

anyway, long story short he got side tracked and went in and killed another persons dragon in the mage room.

i just dont know what to do with these greater dragons, they think they can just walk in and willy nilly eat anything they want.
im serious i think we need to hold an intervention and talk with them about this.
that poor arty farmer now, whos gonna pay for all this time of his that is getting wasted, huh?
definitely not that dragon thats for sure, they just dont consider the consequences of their actions before they go and eat peoples pets.

I don't see the point of AFK killing elementals if you're not there to loot. Surely they have not trained their dragons to loot and forge as well as kill, and the corpses decay after a while. Why would somebody do this in the first place?

If you are not willing or able to monitor what happens to your character or your pet, you deserve whatever result occurrs from that lack of monitoring whether it be having your pet/character killed or having your character pages and banned from the game.

In short... if you don;t want Bad Things™ to happen to your unattended character... LOG OUT.

Last I knew monsters don't attack hidden players. Also since the person doesn't know you are there to begin with, because you are supposedly invisible, it would be pretty hard to argue they lured on to YOU. *laughs*

If I'm trying to herd a creature from point A to point B to get it away from spawn to tame and it attacks you, I'd say bad timing, while in the course of doing our jobs our paths met. If you aren't there to run away or fight it, I'd say bad time to go AFK.

I was not luring... The safest room to hide in was the the room where the Cu was killing all the mages. I ran there and the dragon followed me. I was lucky to get a hide off. I had no idea there was no tamer attached to that Cu.

you get Minax Crested Artys from killing anything down there.
so if you park your dragon in there for 16 hours your gonna have a backpack full of red weapons and armor when you get back.

I see. That would be especially irritating to see somebody hogging the gold elemental room like that - there are certainly faster ways to get mjnax drops, although they require some effort and actual game playing. I'd be tempted to come up with a way to get rid of the unattended pet too if it were there for hour after hour.

It worked out on average 1.5 arties per hour both sides. There was no bonus for hunting in Fel, but thats said there was not extra risk for farming in fel. Out of the 16 hours i spent in fel i only seen 1 other person and even they never hung around for long

A serious question for clarification - is it legal to lure mobs onto unattended pets (no tamer in the room even hidden) in Trammel?

I am referring to an unattended cu sidhe with no other person detectable in the same room, the same cu sidhe that has been there for 3 or 4 days running.

The player must be in game somewhere, or the pet would have autologged.

My character doesn't have lore, so I didn't try that. I have seen several players who don't respond at the top of the stairs - I think they were once hidden but were revealed.

If the player is hidden, and I lure an executioner onto his pet, is that legal since mobs can't target the hidden player? I know this is splitting hairs, I don't want to lure onto attended players and am not advocating vigilantism, but the unattended pets is starting to get out of hand on my shard.

i believe if you look at the rule it says you cant lure stuff onto people.
i dont recall them saying anything about tamer-less pets.

ive killed 10 people in the last 2 days doing this and i even got in a nice pvp fight after doing it on GL last night and i have yet to have anyone complain to me.

dragon gets killed.... or get a visit from a GM while im watching season 3 of Law and Order in another room...... hmmmmm ill take having my dragon getting killed.

then i called my guild mates, they all brought in guys.
we filled that room with like 10 greater dragons.
looked like a fish bowl.
11 greater dragons.

we sat outside and visited in TS for a hour while doing this.
guy didnt get any kills.
he finally came out and marched right past us and didnt say a word with his dragon in tow.

so if i where to do this with my 3 accounts and computers i would be pulling 6 artys per hour.
i would have to do this for 16 hours to get 100 artys.
so i could pull a major arty every day.
those are selling for what.... 200 mill?
so i could be making 200 mill per day doing this.

and i could get caught up in my TV watching too!

Its my experience now after 60+ hours down there the normal drop rate is around 1 per hour, some times you get lucky with the RNG and get 2 an hour, but not very often.
