Error on stratics

I am seeing a lot of duplicate posts.

When posting threads or replies the site seems to lag, then responds with:

The following error occurred:

The server did not respond in time. Please try again.



While it really HAS posted the msg/thread. That's probably why people keep refreshing or posting again -> double posts...

This is what is happening to me as well, I'm using google chrome.

I believe this has to do with how often Stratics refreshes itself, and has been present since the move to the present forum software . It's not giving sufficient time for posts to be applied before a refresh kicks your would be message into oblivion ....

Is it proper when a double post does occur (it's happened to me) for the OP to go back and delete the second duplicate post (I have)?

I am seeing a lot of duplicate posts.

Yar! I was getting a sporadic error, it would tell me it timed out but the post had gone through. Making me think I had to repost.
After the first time I started checking. Hasn't happened since yesterday though.

I sometimes get that error not only by replying, but oftentimes simply after opening a thread. It typically happens at least once every couple of days, or sometimes even multiple times in a single day. Using IE with Animate.

Sounds like server latency. Urg. Hopefully stuff the host'll handle/balance. If it keeps up, we'll pray to our tech god Shamus Turlough and hope for the best.

It's been happening to me quite frequently today.

Then I try to refresh or something getting it to move and end up making the same post 3 times.
