Since we have to train them in a way it's in place. You may be suggesting artwork changes for different stages. Possibly stat changes per stage as well. Would need to keep a way to accurately lore them to help us decide which to tame and which to cull. I wish current critters would be up dated as well. I don't see why my dread mare should be able to kick my fully trained white wyrms rear.
And take up four slots instead of five.
So,all benefit and no drawback? Yeah,that sounds fair.

That's a skree, the worst four slot pet, not as good as any three slotters, and not as good as any two slotters either.
Should be revisited and made a two slot pet (and still not as good as unicorn, kirin, or nightmare). Or, with training allowed to increase skills past grandmaster, learn more mysticism spells and use them more often, and especially do more melee damage.

I would prefer that with training over a long period of time that any would eventually attain max stats, skills, and resistances. Or perhaps those could be added to a long beloved pet via something like the armor refinement system.

It would be nice if pet bonding had no way of undoing other than releasing or tranferring. I've seen two tamers lose their greater dragons in the invasions by trying to command them while the tamers were discorded. (Note: they were told repeatedly not to command pets while they were discorded, and to get out of discord by invisibility or hiding.)

I'd like to see a revamp of current pets.....
Reptalon.... totally worthless pet... make it 3 slots at the very least..... give it another 200 HP make it at least as decent as a Boura....
Skree...... this thing while cute totally useless... shouldn't be worth more than 2 slots. 2 of them Might be worthwhile.
White Wyrm..... can he go greater please? Double the HP?
Now that you have brought back the awesome Conjurers garb..... can we have our dread mares back????? I still say that I would LOVE to see the Vanguard given a permanent home! Give them a spot in Illsh..... or the Lost Lands. I enjoyed the Vanguard and the Dread Mares.... You could even give them the minax mini's as a drop!
And since you removed the Bane Dragons from the Abyss where the Slasher is the least you could do is clean up all the stupid dogs you put down there with it.... or give us back the Bane Dragon. Even the Slasher doesn't like the dogs being in "his" area.

I'd ask for anything as long as it isn't greater drag level or stronger. Once you boost pet power up they increase in control slots and skill requirements. I want versatile pets that can work in combination with others, and offer a range of skill and slot requirements so tamers have some variety. Some tamers run different templates with these pets because they can use them with a lower level of skill. Others use a combination of pets because we prefer having a 2 slot mount alongside a 3 slot stronger pet. I know some tamers do seem to hunt exclusively with 1 GD, but please do not make the taming skill only work for that setup. Leave those pet combination options so we can choose which pets to combine against foes, and have some fun challenges too.
Those tamers who want pet x with the stats of a greater dragon could instead have natural dye shades for their greater dragons. Heck, give them some decorative reptilian markings too. Maybe some different reptile shapes, if someone made a bearded dragon shaped greater I'd maybe even like them I just don't see any benefit in having a full stable of the same thing in different shapes and styles. We can have modest and fun changes to older pets, make them more useful to those of us who still use them in different partnerships.Those of us who've had tamers for a while like to have different challenges without having to visit the biggest hardest bosses in game. Especially now the dungeons are being revamped, there are options for other pets to be used and work new content.
I think the dreads could easily be returned but given the look of the lighter longmane nightmares rather than the pure black ones. Then they'd be obviously different in appearance and if the devs want to tweak the stats a bit they could do that too. Then tamers have a pet they can use without fear it can't be replaced and the rare collectors won't get their feathers in a bunch. I love having my dreads but they are very rarely used because I'm scared I'll lose them. I'd rather keep them on a spare tamer for nostalgia and have a replaceable working version for my main tamers.

I took the time to compare some of the 2 slot pets we have in game
They did surprise me a bit how close the actually are
yes the nightmare does the most dmg and the bake is the best tank but the mare is only an average tank and the bake does bad dmg
So if we do not want all pets to be clones and i hope that is not what we want
Then I do not think all that much should be done to balance them
In my opinion this is what should be done
Stone slith
Cool specials reduce phy resist/bleed/stun but they do not work so good reduce phy dmg only lower phy resist by 10 at 70 resist
It does the worst dmg of all the pets i tested and it is the worst tank and you can not ride it
Dmg and the ability to tank have to be much closer to the nightmare
Bake
it does about the same dmg as drake uni ki-rin but is the best tank of all 2 slot pets leav the bake alone no need to buff or nerf it
Drake
bad/average dmg average tank since you can not ride this pet it should do the same dmg as a nightmare
Uni/ki-rin
Average dmg average tank I would like to lower the taming needed for these pets to about 65 but many use these as a step in training taming so maybe give them higher hp/resist
Fire steed
HIgh dmg (only a bit lower than the nightmare) average tank pack animal that do not have a good partner a nice daemon 3 slot pack animal would be nice
A Nerfed Oni Maybe..... I realy like how these move around
Lowland boura
High dmg (bit lower than nightmare) second best tank after bake leav them as they are
Nightmare
Best dmg average tank leav them as they are
Raptor
Average dmg average tank (little better tank than nightmare) even with the pack bonus 2 raptors do less dmg than 2 mares and you can not ride them
These need a boost in dmg

Some new one slot pack tame that can at least survive a boss area effect. Anything stronger then the GD would require a higher skilled tamer.
Could have a Good vs Evil ride that requires the tame, lore and chiv or necro be GM.
Sweet pack of one slotters that require tame, lore, vet and herding be at least GM.
A ferret with the stealing skill requiring the tame, lore and stealing be at least GM (think stealling skilled hoard minion with weasel artwork).
There are even tamer crafters out there. Beetle with mining and why not a Giant Beaver for jacking. For leather gathering just add in the animation of a GD stepping on the head and tearing off the hide and tossing it aside.
A paladin uses spell to hit a targets weaker resist. Line of GD 4 shades of color who's damage and resist are elementally reflected. Reds fire (dragon), browns/greys physical (dragon), greens poison (yammadon), pink/purples energy(serpentine) and light blue-white cold (way to put in GD class like WW without looking like they bent to the players desire). Gold GD Dragon that is and after tame easter egg of regular GD that gets a 10% reduction off all its stats and template. Controller gets a 777 Luck bump
Like the whole ideal of the return of the dreadmare without ruining the current collection's worth. How hard is retitling and slapping new artwork on dreadmare stats/template that can be ridden. What cool name would they give a purple Llamma or Black Polar Bear?
