This goes along the lines of dieing as an aggressor and getting the "Fleeing Combat" message, when trying to go through a moongate. What would be the harm in letting people that were recently in combat and died, be able to walk back in a house after they have died?
I got a few points to make, but I'm about to go to sleep so I'll just stick to the easiest one. There are plenty of templates out there that don't use any consumables. So they'd have 0 penalty while others have to suffer, that's not exactly fair.I'm gonna guess it might have something to do with people always complaining about no penalty to death. People dying in fights and jumping right back in after a rez due to no need to go get new reagents, consumables, armor or weapons these days. Preventing people from leaving the field of battle is such a penalty to delay.
Right, and they all have the timer across the board, no running into a house for a rez or through the moongate to the healers. Which is the penalty. Sure they still have the advantage with a rez from a guildmate or wandering healer, but that's not what the thread is about, it's "why is there a timer when I'm dead and can't go in a house or a gate". Well, it's to make you wait before rezing and jumping back in.I got a few points to make, but I'm about to go to sleep so I'll just stick to the easiest one. I'll put my 2 cents in here and answer this for you as painless as I can.
Originally you could.
Uproar over players using houses to prevent retaliation from their attacks of others came to the dev of that era's ears and well....... they *fixed* it.
I can tell you now that any revert to the old ways will have what's left of the players who do pvp in fel will scream their heads off and tell the dev no or they will up and quit. Again this will never happen as we all know the reason why.
Hrmmm, maybe the penalty was put into place just for people like yourself that obviously seem to want to die and get back into the battle only seconds later?
You are funny. You want to get killed and be back in every fight on every template in a matter of seconds. That is unrealistic and childish imo.I believe I already stated what the 'big deal' is in waiting 2 minutes. Die in a fight, res, get back to a house, resupply, and get back in the fight in a manner of seconds? Sounds feasible to me Who am I to talk about what rule/template is fair? I stated that some people have to wait to get back in the fight and some don't depending on their template. I do play templates that don't use consumables, thank you for the suggestion. Actually, I play quite a variety of templates, and when it comes to stealth/ninjas in a field fight it's a bit ridiculous to wait 2 minutes to get back into a house after already dieing. It renders the person useless for 2 minutes, where as a mage (played by more than half of the pvp community) can just get right back into the fight.
Your solution to your template is to simply put bandages back on the porch so you can get back to fighting immediately. Why even bother doing that if it's not such a big deal to you to wait 2 minutes to get into your house?
What's childish is you are repeating yourself and not addressing anything I've stated.
Die in a fight, res, get back to a house, resupply, and get back in the fight in a manner of seconds? Sounds feasible to me
So you can keep repeating yourself, and I'll do the same until you come up with a valid argument.

Bottom Line: You are quite obviously a househugger that dies a lot and doesn't want to play by a 10 year old rule. Deal with it
