Sampire builds

Hi I was looking to get some advice on building a sampire.

Are there any sampire builds that use throwing and are they effective?

Are there any sampire builds that use a shield and are they effective?

The thrower is a whammy..

It really all depends on what you'll be using it for..
To kill champs mainly on a secondary account after running spawn with a sampire or a weaver
I use this variation some may agree some may not but I do 220+ AI to most champs
100% Damage Inc on Items
Use Necro Regs and have 50% LRC jewls in case..also carry 30 spirit speak jewls and talisman to pick up gold with horde minion

You can go SpiritSpeak to get the extra mana leech in wraith..but the suit has a ton of mana and stamina increase plus the word of death makes up for it usually
-----------
115 throwing ( 5 wings)
90 tact
120 anat or 120 resist based on champ
120 bushido
75 necro (jewls to 99)
120 weaving for WOD (or drop completely for resist)
80 chiv
----------------

Or you could go straight sampire which also works
120 swords or fencing I prefer swords
Use 100% mana leech bladed staff..make sure you have 180 Stam and atleast 15% ssi on jewls I believe
100 tact
105 bush +15 jewl
120 resist
100 Parry
76 chiv
99 necro

I like to use:

120 Bushido
120 Weapon
100 Tactics
100 Parry
100 Anatomy
99 Necro
81 Chivalry

Been playing around with a new build though:

120 Bush
120 Weap
120 Tact
100 Parry
99 Necro
76 Spirit
85 Chiv

Was going to toy with running in vamp form still but adding two bake kitsune. I could tank then bring them in. I figure it should be more dps with them than what I would lose from anatomy. And since I don't use divine fury, I can cast curse weapon and gain 70% life leech in tight spots.

** I can't remember who originally posted about being able to control bakes with the wolf familiar but I can not take credit for that idea.

That's the nice thing about the sampire build. It has so many variations.

I use

120 Chiv, Mace, Tactics, Anat, Parry, 100 Necro, with a shield. It works very well, and being on siege having the shield slot for extra properties helps.

Another variation that I am currently using, does more damage on average than Bushido with Honor - the only downside is the loss of the 1000 luck bonus.

120 Weapon
120 Chivalry
120 Anatomy
120 Tactics
120 Parry
100 Necro
20 Skill of your choice + up to 30 skill using jewels

Could you do 50 bush and 120 parry with a shield to still be able to honor the target?

I run:

120 Mace
120 Tactics
120 Bushido
100 Necro
80 Chivalry
60 Parry
120 Resist/Anatomy depending on the fight

I typically fight with a imbued and enhanced black staff (run 150 dex with 15 ssi on suit to reach max ssi without ssi on the staff) then swap to a war axe for the bosses.

There are multiple starter post about sampires in the warrior forum.

Honestly, for a sampire when you break it down all you need is a weapon skill, tactics and necromancy. Everything else is about flavor and what you want.

Bushido almost always makes the cut because of the bonuses with whirlwind and Honor. But, there are times you don't need it.

Chivalry- similar to Bushido but can be cut out more often because not as essential as Bushido in effectiveness.

Anatomy is probably the most commonly swapped out skill for Resisting Spells.

I've seen and used builds with Spellweaving, Bard/Discord....

Honestly I keep parry on my template for the 300 points lower mana cost bonus. The added chance to block is just a bonus. Chaining special moves does more than enough life leech to make up for getting hit an extra time once in a while.

I see a lot of low parry temps. Doesn't this hurt your parry chance?

A number of people look at parry as... not so important. And the only reason it's on the template is for the mana reduction. It's rare I have less than GM parry at least and usually 120 parry on my templates. 120 parry + evasion + feint is really good.

I agree there are benefits to 120 parry..but at GM on a swampy and HLA weapons you rarely get huge hits on you..so I look at it as 20 extra points to dump elsewhere..with HLD/HLA and fast weapons as a swordsman I feel fencers with Feint is less useful then a full Damage Based Fast hitting Swordsman that pumps out a lot of damage..very few if any high level MoBS I cannot solo..minus these new invasion guys..it's all in how you choose to play your specific template..that's still what's so cool about UO..one template so many options
