Can we pick the artifacts we exchange the minors for?

I haven't been playing for a while because I have 20 acres of land I've been trying to tame with a chainsaw & a tractor.

My question is when we get the minor artifacts and trade them in, do we get to pick the reward we want to exchange them for?

It works like the Tokuno minor to major exchange. You hand in your minax and choose your Blackthorn.
