Hierarchy system for those that were not elected Governor

This may be a silly question, but do city titles outside of governorship carry any weight with the King in even an 'In Character' manner? I would like to think at least in character that my Duke of Skara would be graciously received by the King and his Court if I came to visit.

Edit: Why doesn't the King have a Queen? Maybe we can cast a greater resurrection spell on Dawn? :)

Unlikely to end well, since she killed Blackthorn once before and was throroughly devoted to her husband (and assassin) at the time she died...

I'd hope the only thing that carried 'weight' with the King was what people did, rather than a title given by someone else - even as a Governor I'd wince at the thought that I could get some 'friends' to have more influence with the King than other people who may well deserve it a lot more...

The titles are specifically bestowed unto players by whom exactly? Is it the npc mayor(s) of each town or is it from the King himself? Also what is the lowest title a player can have and still run for governor? If I remember right,10k gold get us the Knight title. If a Knight player can run and get elected because s/he has enough friends or alt accounts then that seriously undercuts those that put up a good amount of gold and gathered resources to work up to Duke or Duchess.

The governor can give a title to any other citizen of their city, as long as the words in the title don't clash with the filters - all you need do is get both the Governor and the recipient near the town stone, Governor brings up the 'bestow title' option on the stone, targets the recipient, and sets the title.

As for running for Governor, to stand you need to have at least 'adored' status in the city and be a citizen (and have another citizen to endorse you as candidate) - any other titles you buy, like the Duke of Britain or such, have no bearing on status needed to stand.
