New patch borks assist?

On one of my main chars, I'm now unable to get uoassist to recognise a cure potion. Also the dress macro isn't arming the shoes and bracelet, you can save what is worn but it breaks again after relogging. I've tried counting resources. No joy on being able to recognise a cure pot.

Anyone else?

Weirdly, some chars do not suffer from as many problems as others.

I had been experiencing the same on my archer, and could not switch between the four bows I use. I rebooted this afternoon though and now things are fine...not sure who did what, but might be ok now for you too???

UOA is a wonderful little thing. UO Assist is one of those every day miracles, rly. I find it astonishing it still works, after all these years. I find it astonishing there is a 3rd party add on that A) charges money for advantages it provides AND despite doing so is B) officially recognized and approved by OSI. Different times back then. Idea that somebody but EA were in EA's modern MMO, making money is..surreal.

I always wondered why on earth Osi never bothered making their own version of UO Assist. Even today, in 2013 it STILL privides ton of essential features CC does not. Unofficial servers have great number of 3rd party helpers very similar to it in nature; clearly creating them for UO is not something overly difficult to accomplish. Yet, Osi never made one themselves.

Oops...spoke too soon...seems like on some server lines I am ok, but not on others. WEIRD.

My dress macro isn't working completely either, and it's needed since Blessed items don't auto re-equip.

I was having a devil of a time today. The strangest part was refreshing my dress list, and things like my Ranger's Cloak were still listed as "Unknown cloak." I even cleared out all dress items in the character's UOAssist.cfg in case something had gotten corrupted.

This seemed to fix things, at least for now, on a character by character basis: I logged out completely, restarted UOA and UO, then refreshed the item list. Why a fresh login should make any difference, I don't know.

New Pubs always mess up UOA one way or the other. Tug will fix it don't worry.

I'm curious to know how it was messed up...and if it was intentional to battle some of the already 3rd party program out there, which I'm sure are suffering as well..and can tug even get it fixed? Or was it supposed to happen to force the masses to EC..

New updates have always botched UOA and the unclean programs. Until the new is written in stone it is sometimes not worth jumping through rings of fire to fix a new glitch. My EC is working just fine ........ BAZINGA!!!!!!

UOAssist is having issues with potions/dress macros


Fixes that have worked for some people

-Uninstall UO Assist / ReInstall
-Delete Macros 2D/ Uninstall/Reinstall
-Uninstall Ultima Online/ReInstall
-Simply open your backpack and move around the potions
-Put the potions in your backpack via paperdoll


Dress macros have been off and on..after clearing the dress list and re-adding some items are showing as -Unknown and won't equip, and other times they work fine..

*On another note I downloaded and tried the 3rd Party programs to compare the two, and those are also botched in the same manner..so it's definitely something to do with the publish that borked it..and thankfully not UOA..now if we could get an update so I can get back to playing in 2d again..would be awesome

Mine was working fine until I died, after that, I have trouble with arm and dis arm. Not sure why, sometimes it works, sometimes it don't

well it seems most people now have macro problems but i can't even start assist anymore. i get virtual memory error before assist starts the client (see my post in UHALL)

I have to manually put on my blessed crimmy,garb,cloak after every death.."sometimes" my potion decide.."hey! Screw you! You can't drink me" is it unplayable? No! Annoying? Yes more than I can ever start to explain..hence the reason Ive been playing the crappy super cluttered EC

As I refreshed the dress list for a new suit, UOA came up with "Unknown kilt/skirt" though the character had nothing in the slot. I put on a kilt, refreshed, no problem. I removed the kilt, refreshed, no problem -- the "Unknown" was gone.

That is how I got into EC and never looked back at CC. Like falling and your hand hits a pile of dog crap. It kinda lingers and you get used to it. Wash it off with a hose and realize the grass does get greener on the other side. One day they will get tired of trying to get the square peg CC to fit in the round EC hole. Best to just come to the darkside so your eyes have time to adjust.

I have tried hard to get use to EC but I always go back to CC. There is several thing with EC that keep annoy me, house deco is one of them, crappy/wrong look of my char and several monsters /pets are an other thing.

I can accept waiting a few days for TUC, I doubt he expected, he would have to update UO Assist for 15+ years, so hat of for him still being there for us.

Confirmed! Restart and there's a patch in UOA that fixes everything *Whew* This was also affecting the organizer agent which was just killin' me since i use that to clear all the candy from my main pack.

There was a patch to UOA last night or so, most of my macros work fine, but the dress macro seems..... slow as hell compared to how fast it was before it got screwed up when pub 84 came to TC.

if they had only one client to focus on maybe they could do something about the "ugliness" you report.

the ugliness is player perception anyway, and generally related to not wanting anything different to the exact copy of 2d, but each to their own of course,

Such "player perception" is clearly not limited to me. Tell you what: how about the team make the EC work more like the CC, and look better, and then we CC fans can move on. We're not going to switch to a half-baked attempt.

Merely having backpacks look less pixelated would be a start. A small start, but still a start.

hey zog, dont get me wrong, i too wish they could finish the attempt, i settled for whats given but without pinco its a real shoddy effort, and even with pinco's and setting the view distance correct their are still issues to resolve agreed. i suppose i just wish when then went for ec they did a proper job and actually finished it and got people to move, just cant help but think the whole two client thing is such a waste of resource....

Then lets keep CC client

As I see it, I have the choice CC with UO Assist or EC with pinco
I would like to see one client that inc all I love from CC ans UO Assist together with the hotbars from EC.
I don't like E chat option bu would love to have more than one chat window in CC, where I could filter what channels and system info I want to see.

I have tryed hard to get use to EC but I always end up going back to CC

Mesanna and the team looked into this, they said it couldn't be done at an acceptable quality.

Since the problem the OP posted about has now been fixed and the thread is descending into the usual CC/EC flamefest I think it's time to call a halt.
