So back story have a house in Luna that I placed and was selling. House was fairly worn last nite so was gonna transfer to another account when it reached greatly, but this am its marked IDOC owned by OSI. House is properly placed, accounts are in good standing.
So contact EA to find out what happened here, Im told housing can go IDOC at any time (sure I accept that) and if a house has a vendor then OSI can seize house and doesnt have to return it.....um excuse me WTF when did OSI get into stealing and lets be honest here it may be just pixels but that is still theft. Either let house fall if I dont return in time or return it to me if I do but saying that since I had an empty vendor that just said House 4 Sale on plot that OSI now owns it, is a real kick to the head of a paying cust who has multiple accounts over 16yrs old tell me why i would now want to stay for a 17th year.
Oh and for those interested its on Baja inside city walls in SE corner, have no idea when OSI will drop house and I cant say here what I would like them to do with said house cause we have younger readers but GL to you as I wont bother being there when it falls

I feel your pain, my issues with EA/Support and the Devs this past 2 months has been just exhausting. All I can say is that it was whoever at EA support that finally came through for me, I tried contacting the support methods listed here and on UO.com with absolutely no positive response.

I am to assume the Devs are either far to busy to deal with player issues, or just do not care anymore.

I really hope for your sake someone pulls through!

The developers for UO and customer support (including GMs) are run by completely different people. The only way to get in contact with developers is by emailing (or sending them a private message here).

I know we tend to avoid doing this on stratics.....

But perhaps some responsibility should be put on the player. I mean, you had ALOT of time before this thing went IDOC, just saying.

But yes, as others have said, Email Mesanna bout it.

Yes I know, but the issue in which I had could have been solved faster if a dev or mesanna would have stepped in. The/my issue actually stems directly from the actions of a GM.

They changed idoc times with vendors at last publish. It is in the publish notes. If it is owned by osi, it has gone through more than 1 idoc stage, and began it's 2nd circle. That circle can take from 24 hrs to 7 days. ( I think I recal that once it goes condemned - the vendor owners has 7 days to claim their inventory. All beyond that the house can collapse.)

Each Stage of idoc has a timer at 24-30 hrs. With vendors inside, it will go to OSI owned after 1 or 2 idoc stages. Nothing has changed on that, its just falling faster now than before with vendors inside...

So - my bet is that you relied on that it would refresh to your ownership cuz it was vendors there, but that changed.

And as you self stated - you was gonna wait...why wait? It is NO documentation how long a idoc should take, just experience. Once you make that house condemed - it is YOUR responsebility to make sure it is sold or transfered before it falls.

This is nothing I can see OSI or EA or Dev team has anything with... It all falls back to your own slippery hands.

Should have a GM?

I actually just had something similar. I have been away for a few months due to personal things going on. I re-subbed my main account and went out to check my vendor house (which is on another account). I noticed that it was Fairly worn and had been in decay so long that my vendors had all fallen. The vendors were placed by my main account into that secondary accounts home.

Anyways, I load up my secondary account, re-sub, log-in, and the house will not refresh. I did the math, and compared to the publish notes (concerning houses with vendors), my house should have been as good as gone. My only choice should have been to empty it as fast as possible and minimize my losses.

However, I said well, lets take a chance, paged a GM, and within 30 minutes, voila, house was refreshed for me! (I am still going to empty the house and sell it off, cant afford the spare account right now but at least I wont lose out on the gold from he house since I have potential buyers).

I sincerely hope you are able to get it resolved. But usually the rule of thumb is OSI owned = your SOL and has always been that way. Although they shouldnt be going that way anymore, should be just strait two decay cycles and it falls (if it had vendors).

The game developers should never Have to help players. It is only a reflection of EA's broken systems. They make the U.S. military look like a finely tuned machine.

If what the OP says is true then it sounds like it kinda skipped the Greatly stage. It should be at Greatly when he woke up and not IDOC.

Or the OP wasn't keeping track of the timer properly and waited too long.

I'm sorry but I fell if you have a house and the account the house is on goes Unpaid r 5 business day the house should automatically go IDOC. You are NOT paying for the house :-( There are plenty of player out there PAYING and would love to have a nice house but cannot because MANY of the houses are sat on by player who just activate account to keep them going. Good job EA for finally make people keep accounts ACTIVE ALWAYS :) (puts on flame retardant suit)

Yes thats my complaint when I went to sleep I owned house and it was a fairly worn. I use a couple spare accounts to hold houses and I switch to them when a house goes greatly.
So at 10pm Fri it was at Fairly when I logged in Sat morning at 9am it was IDOC owned by OSI. From info provided it should have been in Greatly worn stage and even if somehow it went thru Greatly into IDOC it would have never had time to go thru a double IDOC for OSI to take over in only 11 hours. Add to that the extreme rudeness of the EA staff and you have a very poor result

Extreme rudeness by staff because they answered your question by telling you the IDOC rules? I think that's their way of saying you shouldn't wait so damn long to transfer a house. Not to mention they have always taken vendor houses. You're not the first person to come here and share the story of playing chicken with housing timers and losing.

It is not stated anywhere where or how long a decay circle will take. All the numbers of minutes and hours are provided by players. All that is stated, from OSI is that - once you make your house condemned, you have limited time to emty is or change ownership.

You failed doing this. You had a house in a very good spot, and jepordized it.. So, take the blame on yourself. You knew it was going to decay - so why wait a day or two??? I dont get that at all..

But - im maybe blond cuz i insta change ownership on houses i change on accs and they go to decay stage...And I never lost one spot...
