It is a damn good job that those who complained about the realism of the heads on the spikes didn't live in London at any time between 1305 and 1660 or they would have really had something to complain about if they crossed London Bridge. They might have seen as many as 30 heads there and they would have been the REAL THING not just artwork.
How the world changes!. From accepting the real thing as part of everyday life to complaining about a picture of it. In my opinion Halloween is expected to be a bit creepy and I thought that his time the Devs got it right. The sop to complainants looks ridiculous. My Trick or Treating stops right now.

No, they're in Halloween mode, Bleak has vampire teeth etc. See the note at the foot of the publish notes.

Mine will be trashed as well. Something that looked awesome now looks like something from Scooby Doo cartoons.
If its just for halloween, fine. But if this is a permanent change in response to the few complaints, then these are going straight in the garbage.
I cant even get any of the dumb things... iver got 20 of the other rewards and not 1 head.
not really, I helped collect them for a guildmate who didn't have a beggar. I have 7 'spares' which I'll be looking to probably sell to anyone who wasn't able to get them. I don't want them myself.
Join the club, even the people who DID want them don't want them anymore.
Strange as it may seem, I don't want the teams' heads on spikes no matter what the artwork looks like. I'm not into 'gruesome'.

I do not see how the new look is any less creepy. I did not complain to anyone about them except my hubby....lol Just not my taste.

Add me to the list of disappointed people. Just yesterday I was showing my 18 yr old daughter (a huge WoW freak) my heads on a pike collection and told the story of how in a moment of comic genius the Dev team did something unexpectedly creative in response to the continual crap they get from the UO player base. Her comment was "Oh wow, dad, that's so cool! I wish the WoW dev team would do something like that!"
I'm hoping that after Halloween the costumes will come off and we'll get our effigies back. I can't imagine how anyone who plays a game like UO which trumpets the ability to murder other people... um characters... um... their avatars could possibly be offended by the old artwork, especially since trash cans are abundant in the game. Seriously, someone complained??

I agree! When I told my hubby about the change he looked at the only one he has a Mesanna headand got mad and unlocked it and threw it on the ground. I picked it up and locked it back down. Its only deco.........geez

im 99percent sure its a perma change because of the complaints.

Glad I had to take a break for a few days or I would be upset at the hours and hours of farming them just to get this look in the end. Now I can dedicate those hours to something else... because for me these are not worth collecting now. 
The spiked heads are not my thing. Gross in my opinion. But I suspect these are part of Halloween and then they will revert. Look at the artwork. Whether you like it or not, it took time to create. This was planned all along.
Well, I just got all patched up and logged in, and took a peek at the different heads on a spike. I like em. Either way is good for me, would be nice to be able to choose and have sets of both. Anyone on Pac who is gonna "throw em in the trash" please feel free to drop em off with me, just let me know where to meet ya.

I much prefer the old ones, but I would be happy to take them off the hands of anybody who no longer wants these. Seriously, please IM me if you are willing to part with them because I have been unable to get any through trick or treating despite having GM begging.
Suggestion: Just make it so the two graphics can be toggled between.
If these are changed because they were too graphic... that really makes me sad. They aren't something I would have collected given they are staff inames, but I actually enjoyed the realism of the graphics and the effort that went into them.

I only have one that was given to me. Ill take any spares on LS. I trick or treat daily. Have 90ish of each candy from this year. I have done a lot of door knocking but not 1 head on spike.
Patching now. The notes say its a costume. The cornucopia pig on a spit sounds cool! The city invasions sound fun. Do we need to fight for our own city?
