Where is the 'path' string to desktop folder for 2d and 3d client? Anyone know???

I did a search in registry, but there is no path for %username%\Documents\EA Games\ etc at all.

I tried to look in the files for 2D client - but with no luck.

Havent tried to find it in 3D yet.

I need to know where the string/config with the path is, so i can edit it. I want to use my dropbox folder so that I have it sycnronized on all my computers.

I know where the desktop folder is located.

It is a string somewhere to adress it to go to the documents folder - but what I am searching is the registry key, or config within ultima where it list where to save the desktop. The string I wrote in my first post - but where in uo is that string? I want to edit that string to locate the desktop folder somewhere else.

Wish it was so simple. Somewhere in the uo config - it tells to save desktop in documents folder, under EA Games. I am looking for WHERE that config is, so I can edit it.

Path in command promt will only show windows path directories, not UO config for where to save desktop.

I assume - by elimination of other possibilities - the path is directly coded into the client.exe.
I already tried to find a solution for this problem way back when Mythic changed the path out of the UO game folder, but could never find a somewhat passable way of changing it.

Thank you - but this is not what I am looking for. I know where in regedit to find path's for profile and directories.

I will try to clearify it once more; Ultima Online have a path for where to save your desktop. That config is within the game - it is NOT listed in registry. I need to find where in the game, what file in the game that directs desktop folders to be saved under my documents. Not Microsoft paths, but UO Path string for where to save desktop.

Yes, I know the workaround. But now that I digged into this and started it - I would really like to know where in the uo gamefiles it points to 'documents' folder. By knowing that, it is possible to do easy changes for later to locate them another place.

That isn't recommendable anyway, since you don't know what you could break, especially with future client patches. However, it's fortunate that the path isn't hard-coded. The game looks to the path specified in the Windows registry, and that you can change.

But he doesn't want to change that path. That path changes *everything*. He just wants to change where UO stores user data.

I've never heard of anyone who bothered. While it's possible, it isn't just some arcane uo.cfg setting, but going into the actual game files. As I said, then you risk not being able to patch, and it isn't permitted to alter game files anyway.
