The carving kits drop off of Butchers in the Graveyard. Once you get the kits you need a carvable pumpkin that drops off of Killer Pumpkins in pumpkin patches.
Good luck getting carvable pumpkins! The drops rates and spawn rates even when cleaning the fields out and trashing them is terrible. I will say the pumpkins look awesome but this could take quite a while. 2 of us trying to get carvable pumpkins this morning and between the two of us only got 4 on the entire server Fel and Tram but to be fair we only tried for 2 hours.
Update: Holy smokes, I went back ingame after posting this and now can say the grand total is 5 between 2 of us! Woot!

Yeah... they are sporadic that way. You will go an hour or two on occasion not getting a single one then the next thirty minutes you get 4 or so *shrugs*

I can see that point. But some of the designs would have looked really odd on the rounder version and I do love the UO logo one

What kind of luck are you running? I am at about 2k and getting about a 75% success chance at getting Carvable ones.
So far the only "complaint" I have about the content is I wished they had enabled us to get a few turn in points for all the pumpkins I am trashing

Drop rate for both the pumpkins & the kits, seem to be roughly 50% based on what I've killed so far.... of course this is all solo kills, so I was the only one with looting rights. (only one kits/carveable pumpkin seems to drop per mob.)
from last night and today i put the Butchers dropping carving kits at like 75% and the Grimms dropping carve-able pumpkins at like 10-20%
Could it be competing looting rights?
I've killed 3 Grimms and got 2 pumpkins. 0 Luck.
I also think clearing the fields is superstition. Felucca seems to have a faster spawn on Chessy.

Clearing fields is a myth. The trick is to go around all pumpkin fields. When you killed a Grimm somewhere in the world a new one spawns.
Pumpkin fields i know:
- South of Moonglow.
- East of Moonglow
- Several West of Britain
- Skara Mainland
- Yew ( Also the one on the NW side on the other side of the water.
- Ocllo/New Haven
- Near the savage fort in the Lost Lands.
(Maybe more that i can't think of)
Do check both Trammel and Felucca.

I am confused here... I have been a legendary pumpkin hunter since it's inception (have a little over 700 locks used in my house from them including masks) and I have never seen a grimm (killer pumpkin) spawn without a pumpkin being removed from a field ever. I have sat afk in pumpkin patches for an hour or two before while working online on other things and not had one spawn during that time. Also I have had 2 additional Grimms spawn while I was actively fighting one. What myth am I missing? Anything that makes it easier I am all for.....
I've got to agree with Kylie on this... On Pac I worked the patches with my Bard/Mage (had a runebook dedicated to it)... Killer's ONLY respond to pumpkin removal - period. Hours and hours and hours spent during the time... Never, ever did I recall into a pumpkin field that spawned a grimm without first removing pumpkins....

i dont pull out pumpkins, all i do is run from field to field to field and kill the ones that are there.

i got 20 pumpkins in less then a hour by cleaning the fields so you go a head and bounce the fields.

Because i get more Grimm pumpkins from recalling around from field to field then to clean a field with all pumpkins and wait for a Grimm to respawn.
It use to be true that pumpkins respawned with named ones years ago when these things came out. But then the named pumpkins where the same as the pumpkins on the field. My experience is that when you killed a Grimm pumpkin is killed a new one spawns on a field somewhere else. You might be lucky you get a respawn on the same one as you are on.
The reason why you find more Grimm pumpkins in Felucca is because less players go look in Felucca for them. If you don't find any Grimm pumpkins in Trammel it is most likely you find several in Felucca.
I might be totaly wrong but thats my experience on them. I don't bother cleaning fields and i find plenty.

Oh I wish a Dev would please answer this age old question on clearing the fields. I do not ever remember them ever saying to clear the fields. People have you doing all kinds of crazy stuff to get pumpkins to spawn like taking them across the server line and throwing them in a trash can. I do wish they would let us know. Would save me debating this issue with many people

Clearing a field, and by this I mean DELETING the pumpkins, will lead to a respawn. More respawn = more CHANCES at a Grimm pumpkin.
Easiest way to delete the pumpkins is with a horde minion. Have it following you round the field snarfeling up the pumpkins till it reaches about 400 stones in weight. Release it. Rinse. Repeat.
You can also place pumpkins onto a corpse or lug them to a trash receptacle.
Simply piling them on the sides of a field WILL NOT lead to a mass respawn.

Nope... Sat in Fel last night. Didn't clear a single pumpkin and watched the Grimm spawn myself.
And the million dollar question is............ did they add Tmaps to the Grimms? Paragon chest chance is an easy collector item they could add. Ish graveyard would be nice. They do all this work for event critters and forget map drops and Ish spawning.

This is possible, but I think it had to do with "pumpkin decay". After all the years of having these type pumpkin fields, am I the only one to realize after about 4 hours, the pumpkins start to decay? Hence why every once in awhile you see a lone Grimm pumpkin pop up you know wasn't there a few mins ago when you checked. Yes the fastest way for respawn is to remove the pumpkins from a field (has to be removed completely from the server, not placed on side of field), yes a horde minion works best. Second easiest is to buy a bunch of leather (has to be leather) bags, fill them with pumpkins and feed them to a tamed goat. We have been doing this for 3-4 years now? Are we really debating this? LOL

Unknown at this time. 8 hours total in on that specific project (approx 25 paras) and not a paragon one has spawned yet. Will let ya know if I get one tho.
This was confirmed last year that these do NOT exist. We had paragon Grimm's that spawned but they did not have a chance at maps, so zero chance of a chest.

My necro takes a while to kill the grimms. I have been fighting one and another has spawned in the same field.
The spawn rate is very slow.

i had 4 grimms in one field that i popped into here 2 nights ago.

took me longer to get the kits then the pumpkins cleaning the fields so far 40 pumpkins and 33 kits
what the deuce is that...
I'm going to guess Exodus?? I think it looks like a Giant Squid or something.... No clue.
